Salon À la Mode’s owner, Shelley Luther, got her first piece of good news yesterday when Texas Gov. Greg Abbott eliminated jail penalties for lockdown offenders.

After two days behind bars, Luther was free. The otherwise law-abiding citizen stoically confronted the indignity of imprisonment because her business needed to remain open to provide for her children and 19 employees.

Instead of cowering before the court so that she could freely leave — still having to pay a hefty fine — Luther told the judge, “I have hair stylists that are going hungry because they’d rather feed their kids. So sir, if you think the law is more important than kids being fed, then please go ahead with your decision. But I’m not going to shut the salon.”

Still facing imposing financial obstacles, Luther appeared on Sean Hannity’s program last night, who gave her more welcome news. (Daily Wire)

After describing the situation with the Democrat activist judge who ordered her to serve a week in jail and pay a $7,000 fine, Luther said that she opened her business because she was behind on her mortgage and her stylists were also struggling to make ends meet.

“I’m two months behind on my mortgage and my stylists were telling me that they wanted to, you know, what do you think if I do underground and go to people’s houses?” Luther said. “And I just said, you know, that’s not a good idea because we can’t control the environment there. We don’t know if it’s been disinfected or anything like that. And I just decided I would open to create a safe place for the stylists, and to make sure I wasn’t the reason they weren’t making money.” (RELATED: Dystopian Nightmare Comes to America)

“We tried to use the gloves at first and that’s kind of hard for the hair stylists,” Luther continued. “The nail techs of course did, but we made sure that I had no clients waiting inside the salon at all. So I had chairs six feet apart outside of the salon so we had no one waiting, and when a stylist was ready, wearing a mask of course, didn’t let any clients come in without a mask. They instantly sanitized their hands. The hair stylists sanitized their hands and they came in, they did the cut and that person left. And so there were no magazines and there were no drinks. And of course everybody had to wear a mask to come in.”

A few moments later, Hannity told Luther that he was going to be making a donation to her shop because he wanted her and her employees to be able to make it through the economic crisis.

  1. She’s a Hero – she had nearly a half million in a fund so she may be able to pay off her mortgage, and the kind of person she is she sounds as if she will be helping her employees out with things too.

    1. She represents the many citizens of this nation that will squash the traitors of America like this POS fake judge.

    2. Agree, she spoke up respectfully, but knew there was no reason to apologize. Her
livelihood & family were more important. Bravo!

    3. Shades of what happened to Chik-fil-A before they turned evil. I remember when the nation came to Chik-fil-A’s rescue when the homosexuals tried to call a boycott because the owner, PRIVATELY gave money to a Christian group that believes in life.
(Now they turned tail and refused to support Christian Athletes and the Salvation Army. So guess what is happening to Chikp-fil-A now. Yes, I and thousands of others are boycotting them for their support of homosexual organizations with their COMPANY FUNDS.

  2. She is obviously a responsible business owner, wanting to pay her employees and those who work there, and feed her children. I’m glad she has the fund, and it was nice of Hannity to donate to her cause.

    1. Shades of Chik-fil-A and the homosexual boycott. See what happens when good are attacked by evil. The good people come to their rescue. And the media and the democrat evil guys go nuts.

  3. You know what I really like about Shelley, she used common sense!!!! Something that elected officials know nothing about!

  4. A REAL WELCOME JESTER OF FAITH AND NEIGHBORLY ACT ON SEAN’S PART! SOME TIMES HE HAS A LOT OF WIND BUT THIS TIME WAS A GREAT MOVE FOR THIS LADY AND HER STYALIST HELP! THANK YOU SEAN!

    1. Amen, we must work on that. It is evident that the cesspool in washing isn’t going to jail the people that make the laws for breaking them, so it is up to us to do the job. We must also get behind our President to make sure this WILL happen. Thanks, to Shelly Luther & Thanks to the Texas Supreme Court, Texas Governor Abbott, the Attorney General of Texas, Sean Hannity and everyone that helped Shelly Luther with the go fund me donations. They are beginning to really wake up a sleeping Giant that these anti-American, evil, treasonous, Conspiracy, lying liberal idiots will soon get to deal with. Their b.s. has gone on way to long. Will come to an end.

      1. In Texas, judges are elected. The residents of Dallas County must make SURE that this liberal, power mad judge is NOT re-elected. VOTE this fool out.

    2. I could not agree more! These Democrat/Socialist judges don’t have a clue when it comes to what’s best for citizens. They, instead, concentrate on control, the opposite of good governance.

  5. You are a perfect example to the AMERICAN SPIRIT that THIS COUNTRY WAS BUILT ON IN 1776 you have our admiration.
Thousands should stand and say arrest us. your rules do not fit every situation.
If the judge can’t discern that he needs to be removed from the position of authority,
    Next election???

  6. Shelley Luther, good for you! It takes courage to do what you did. This entire, constructed ‘shelter in place’ is a figment of the left’s imaginary playbook. Viruses come and go. Most of us will be fine. A few will not and they will be a loss. But, life goes on beyond the evil nay-sayers like nasty Nancy and the rest of her cohorts. Stay strong and thanks for the reminder of what America is REALLY about. Hold the course. MAGA.

    1. I’ve always heard it is better to give than receive… Sean Hannity is a true American man and honest one at that… those people on CNN & NBC are pathetic and they wouldn’t even show her on their crooked show… maybe it was a blessing for her that they didn’t… All you hear from them is how bad Trump is and Adam Schiff did nothing wrong and it was Barr’s fault that they dropped the case for Flynn and doing Trump a favor… NOT TRUE………..Maybe they all should learn what kindness really is…

  7. This is a good example of a business that does not fit the government’s one-size-fits-all approach to things. Most salons rent chairs or seats meaning most of the people who work there are not employees of the salon. So, you have one business with 18 employees who can apply for PPP and potentially get it all forgiven and businesses like this who can’t. Both may have the same number of people relying on that small business for their livelihood.

Then you also have businesses coming up with really innovative ways to protect people. Now you can argue whether or not they are sufficient. Not many of us are infectious disease experts that can answer that question. But the point is business owners aren’t even given the opportunity to try. They’ve been called a non-essential service. Meaning you HAVE TO CLOSE and aren’t allowed to re-open under any circumstance.

  8. Shelly Luther, your heart is in the right place. Taking care of your employees and client’s safely. More people should have the courage you do and stand up for what’s right. Sean Hannity, you are awesome!

  9. This woman is what makes Texas great, natives of the state do things like this. She has the gumption to stand up to a partisan hack of an affirmative action judge and tell him how small minded and ignorant he is. His type of decision is one of the reasons this country rebelled against the King of England.

The punishment should fit the crime and the crime here is him and his decision.

  10. Over $500,000 were raise in a GO Fund Me account. I contributed to it. She should be OK

  11. Beautiful Story…Beautiful SPIRIT…. GOD BLESS AMERICA.. GOD BLESS THESE HARD WORKING FOLKS…. & MAY GOD KEEP OUR PRESIDENT SAFE…from ALL that is EVIL ..especially in OUR POLITICAL SYSTEM..

  12. This makes me proud to be part of this great country, people standing up for our freedoms and giving from the heart.

  13. We back you 100 percent! If they open every beach in town! It’s her Business! Well I’ll tell you they will have to arrest me!

  14. This lady proves that it’s best to stick to your guns. I can only say that judges are to protect the innocent not JAIL them. So sad that the Dems are so political and go as far to jail those who want to protect and provide for their family.

  15. I LOVE THE TEXANS SPIRIT & GENEROSITIES…….I KNOW SHELLEY WILL SHARE THE GO FUND ME MONIES WITH HER STYLISTS……..THANK YOU, TED CRUZ, SEAN HANNITY, GOVERNOR ABBOTT, THE LT GOVERNOR & THE TEXAN AG ALSO!…..BUT MOSTLY THE PEOPLE OF TEXAS THAT SUPPORTED SHELLEY & HER STYLISTS…..

NOW WHAT YOU ALL NEED TO DO IS VOTE THIS POWER HUNGRY JUDGE WHOM DOESN’T CARE ABOUT THE WELFARE OF THE PEOPLE IN TEXAS BUT INSTEAD ASKING SHELLEY TO APPOLOGIZE TO THE “POLITICIANS”……..WHAT A LAUGH…..I NOW KNOW THAT THIS DEMOCRATIC JUDGE WOULD MAKE A GOOD SUBORDINATE FOR HITLER SO THAT HE CAN FEED HIS MANIACOL EGO!…….

  16. It warms my heart to know that we still have good principled people like Ms Luther in America! Listening to these horrible Liberals, I wasn’t so sure!

  17. As a Texan I’m so proud of this strong Texas woman for bringing down this liberal dumb Obama appointed Texas Judge. When government rules its Tyranny. When people rule its DEMOCRACY. God Bless her.

  18. Wow I guess it is OK to separate a mother from her children. Couldn’t even call her daughter to tell her she would not be home.
