Salon À la Mode’s owner, Shelley Luther, got her first piece of good news yesterday when Texas Gov. Greg Abbott eliminated jail penalties for lockdown offenders.
After two days behind bars, Luther was free. The otherwise law-abiding citizen stoically confronted the indignity of imprisonment because her business needed to remain open to provide for her children and 19 employees.
Instead of cowering before the court so that she could freely leave — still having to pay a hefty fine — Luther told the judge, “I have hair stylists that are going hungry because they’d rather feed their kids. So sir, if you think the law is more important than kids being fed, then please go ahead with your decision. But I’m not going to shut the salon.”
Still facing imposing financial obstacles, Luther appeared on Sean Hannity’s program last night, who gave her more welcome news. (Daily Wire)
After describing the situation with the Democrat activist judge who ordered her to serve a week in jail and pay a $7,000 fine, Luther said that she opened her business because she was behind on her mortgage and her stylists were also struggling to make ends meet.
“I’m two months behind on my mortgage and my stylists were telling me that they wanted to, you know, what do you think if I do underground and go to people’s houses?” Luther said. “And I just said, you know, that’s not a good idea because we can’t control the environment there. We don’t know if it’s been disinfected or anything like that. And I just decided I would open to create a safe place for the stylists, and to make sure I wasn’t the reason they weren’t making money.” (RELATED: Dystopian Nightmare Comes to America)
“We tried to use the gloves at first and that’s kind of hard for the hair stylists,” Luther continued. “The nail techs of course did, but we made sure that I had no clients waiting inside the salon at all. So I had chairs six feet apart outside of the salon so we had no one waiting, and when a stylist was ready, wearing a mask of course, didn’t let any clients come in without a mask. They instantly sanitized their hands. The hair stylists sanitized their hands and they came in, they did the cut and that person left. And so there were no magazines and there were no drinks. And of course everybody had to wear a mask to come in.”
A few moments later, Hannity told Luther that he was going to be making a donation to her shop because he wanted her and her employees to be able to make it through the economic crisis.

HELP Expose the TRUTH About Creepy Joe Biden
She’s a Hero – she had nearly a half million in a fund so she may be able to pay off her mortgage, and the kind of person she is she sounds as if she will be helping her employees out with things too.
She represents the many citizens of this nation that will squash the traitors of America like this POS fake judge.
Agree, she spoke up respectfully, but knew there was no reason to apologize. Her
livelihood & family were more important. Bravo!
Shades of what happened to Chik-fil-A before they turned evil. I remember when the nation came to Chik-fil-A’s rescue when the homosexuals tried to call a boycott because the owner, PRIVATELY gave money to a Christian group that believes in life.
(Now they turned tail and refused to support Christian Athletes and the Salvation Army. So guess what is happening to Chikp-fil-A now. Yes, I and thousands of others are boycotting them for their support of homosexual organizations with their COMPANY FUNDS.
She is obviously a responsible business owner, wanting to pay her employees and those who work there, and feed her children. I’m glad she has the fund, and it was nice of Hannity to donate to her cause.
Shades of Chik-fil-A and the homosexual boycott. See what happens when good are attacked by evil. The good people come to their rescue. And the media and the democrat evil guys go nuts.
You know what I really like about Shelley, she used common sense!!!! Something that elected officials know nothing about!
