White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre commented on the situation, alleging that President Biden left the event in an attempt to minimize contact with guests at the event following First Lady Jill Biden testing positive for COVID-19. However, this is unlikely the case, as Biden provided to explanation himself, and also removed the masking policy before the event.
