Top New York Times Editor Quits in Scathing Resignation Letter

New York Times editor and opinion columnist Bari Weiss has dramatically quit her job with a scathing resignation letter she published publicly.

The letter, viewable on Weiss’ website, denounces the so-called newspaper of record’s illiberal culture, which has only gotten worse amid the woke crusades.

Despite her moderate views, Weiss complains that her more ideologically-driven colleagues have called her a racist and even a Nazi. At one point, she states, “the lessons that ought to have followed the (2016) election…have not been learned.”

Fox News’ Brian Flood has more:

Weiss then explained that she joined the paper in 2017 to help offer a different perspective, as the Times’ “failure to anticipate the outcome of the 2016 election meant that it didn’t have a firm grasp of the country it covers,” and fixing that issue was critical.

“But the lessons that ought to have followed the election—lessons about the importance of understanding other Americans, the necessity of resisting tribalism, and the centrality of the free exchange of ideas to a democratic society—have not been learned,” Weiss wrote. “Instead, a new consensus has emerged in the press, but perhaps especially at this paper: that truth isn’t a process of collective discovery, but an orthodoxy already known to an enlightened few whose job is to inform everyone else.”

Weiss then wrote that “Twitter is not on the masthead of The New York Times,” but social media acts as the ultimate editor.

“As the ethics and mores of that platform have become those of the paper, the paper itself has increasingly become a kind of performance space. Stories are chosen and told in a way to satisfy the narrowest of audiences, rather than to allow a curious public to read about the world and then draw their own conclusions. I was always taught that journalists were charged with writing the first rough draft of history,” she wrote. “Now, history itself is one more ephemeral thing molded to fit the needs of a predetermined narrative.”

The Fake News NYT will never change and continue to lie to its poor readers. They were wrong for three years on COLLUSION but have never corrected a thing. It is a trash paper.

She is learning. The ethics and morality of these people is on display. It is not about news. It is about shaping and forming the mind set of those who are easily brain washed.
What is the end of this? The Antichrist will take control. ONE WORLD ORDER will be his support. And evil will take control. But only for a time. God is still God.

Well, come on. The New York Times serves an important purpose. My late great dog was potty trained on it…

The toilet paper times, not worth the paper it’s written on. What a waste of trees and ink.

It would be nice to have the NYT become the newspaper it was when I was young in the 1950’s. It always has been left wing as shown by its reporters saying that there was no famine in the Ukraine when the the people were starving to death. However, I used to read the newspaper when possible. Now I no longer pick it up. I bought 3 shares in the company in 3 separate retirement accounts just to increase its overhead. The only issue I would have with the company going bankrupt is my concern about the copies kept for the historical record.

I did not know NYT allowed moderate conservatives to contribute to the intellectual dialogue we so desperately need in this Country. Opposing views a re not bad and does not mean one is racist and one is not. That’s all politics! It’s the politics of wanting to one man removed from office. No wonder she resigned. She simply could not put up wit it anymore. I’m hoping that the silent majority feels the same way come November.

At least there’s one employee of the media that remembers what their true mission was always intended to be. She deserves to be commended her for her honesty, candor and bravery during this violent time in our history. I’ve no doubt she’ll still do very well without the NYT. Someone will quickly snatch her up as there’s still plenty of people that live by what’s right, and what’s wrong. Truth is, this is a spiritual war and just as it’s been foretold, many will choose satan over Jesus and God. I pray for His mercy when it’s time for them to finally meet God.

WOW!!!!

Do you guys really get what she is saying? She just viscerally ripped the New York Times’ guts right out and fed them to the proverbial buzzards. She basically called the New York Times Twitter on paper. And this isn’t some critic, this is someone who worked there! This is the equivalent in newspaper terms of a John Bolton. This is a bombshell of epic proportions

You think too highly of Bolton. He might have been a good guy at one time. He crossed over and now belongs in jail. Can you imagine what would have happened to Obama had a proportional number of his staff stepped up and claimed to have told the truth. I want to hear what the SECRET SERVICE guys know about Obama and Hillary

If you wish to learn journalism the right way, join one of the military services, and request journalism (or broadcasting) school. If you meet the requirements, following basic training/boot camp, they will send you off to beautiful downtown Fort George G. Meade, Maryland (between DC and Baltimore), to a place called “DINFOS” (Defense Information School) You will learn as much about journalism or broadcasting in 12-12.5 weeks, than you would in four years of college.

I believe Wheel of Fortune host Pat Sajak is a DINFOS graduate. I know he was a military broadcaster with AFVN (American Forces Vietnam Network.)

Rush read her resignation letter on his show today, comparing it with VDH’s article on the socialist Jacobins decline in French history, it is very telling when a communist propagandist resigns because her fellow communist propagandist turn on her for not being radical enough! They will still start the war, but we will finish it in victory very quickly!

Here is what is planned. Biden is about brain dead. At the last minute, the Dems will put Hilary in as the candidate and she will STEAL the election. She tried to in 2016 but underestimated the number of fraudulent votes needed. They only had 8 million fake votes in 2016. And they were in the wrong states.
They learned their lesson and in 2018 they stole several Congressional seats. Districts that had not gone Democrat in many decades. Suddenly won by Democrats. FOR SURE, it was voter fraud. And what did the Republicans do? Republicans like McConnell whose voting record now is 28%. Cornyn is at 33%. Collins is at 12%. And you think any of them will stop the Democrats from stealing elections.

Keep speaking up and find a place where you can do truthful unbiased journalism. Our country needs to hear the truth backed by facts not the fiction being spewed 24/7 by the msm agenda driven story tellers.

She is just confirming what conservatives have known for a long time; the nyt wouldn’t know the TRUTH if it bit them! But not to worry, they will have another liberal loon taking her place (if they haven’t already) before this is posted. You just can’t fix STUPID, especially when it comes to the media!

The aggravating side to this is that they don’t care what is said or done about them. They have very deep pockets and obviously feel like they can ride the storm out! That is also the issue with Twitter, FB, Google, Youtube and others. They are no longer social media platforms, they have become publishers and should have the protection they have under a social media platform taken away from them all. I’m at a complete loss as to why that has not happened.

If the Washington Redskins can be forced to change their name, the NYT should be forced to change their logo. Instead of “All the News that’s Fit to Print”, how about “All the Fake Liberal News”? The NYT used to be a great newspaper. Now it is just a liberal rag, the American version of PRAVDA (truth, in Russian).

This is probably the best thing Ms. Weiss could do for herself. After being subjected to the infirmities of the Old Grey Hag, she’s learned that just because you know you can do a good job doesn’t mean you’ll be allowed to. That’s what reality feels like Ms. Weiss.

The masthead of the Times reads or used to read, All The News That’s Fit To Print. As I recall, the argument ran more or less as follows. Was that reading valid, or should it have read All The News Printed To Fit.
