Paramount Network first aired Yellowstone in 2018, and the show is a television drama series about the Dutton family, who own and operate a large ranch in Montana starring Kevin Costner, Luke Grimes, and Kelly Reilly. The show largely revolves around constant threats from those who want to take it from them, including developers, the federal government, and other rival ranchers. Yellowstone has been described as being not up to the times, or, “woke,” has finally been nominated for its first Golden Globes nomination. Yellowstone has never received a Primetime Emmy nomination in the major categories, nor have they been nominated for a Golden Globe up until this point.
Piper Perabo, 46, will be playing Summer Higgins, a left-wing protestor character. In the first episode featuring Summer Higgens, (you guessed it) she is part of a protest, which Kayce brakes up. However, in the episode, John, played by Kevin Costner, bails her out of jail, then offers to show her the ranch. Likely initiating Summer Higgens as a character who will be around to stay for a prolonged period of time.
The show may be crumbling from within, as Piper Perabo is married to Yellowstone director, Stephen Kay. The addition of the extremely political and far-left Perabo could be a decision made by director Steven Kay, which appears to aim at adding a far-left element to the hit T.V. show – these decisions have the potential to change the political structure of the hit T.V. show, which was previously viewed as an out-liar right-wing T.V. option.

In December of 2022, Yellowstone announced on their official Twitter that the show had been nominated for its first Golden Globe as Kevin Costner was nominated for lead actor in a dramatic series:
