As tensions continue to rise with China in the South China Sea, and Taiwan Strait, the U.S. is beefing up its deployed forces in the region. A U.S. Navy destroyer just sailed near disputed islands in the South China Sea in another Freedom of Navigation Operation, or FONOP, and the U.S. Air Force is sending nearly three dozen additional air defense and strike fighters to Guam and Tinian in a display of “strategic flexibility.”

Both military moves are designed to send a message to Beijing; America can and will defend its allies and interests in the region.

The National Interest reports:

The Arleigh Burke-class destroyer USS Russell sailed by the Spratly Islands, claimed by China, earlier this week. The Russell belong to the U.S. Navy’s Seventh Fleet, which stated that the destroyer “asserted navigational rights and freedoms in the Spratly Islands, consistent with international law,” adding that “this freedom of navigation operation upheld the rights, freedoms and lawful uses of the sea recognized in international law by challenging unlawful restrictions on innocent passage imposed by China, Vietnam and Taiwan.”

Commissioned in 1995, the Russell’s System Mk 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS) accepts a wide range of armaments that include Tomahawk cruise missiles, RIM-67 surface-to-air missiles, and RUM-139 ASROC anti-submarine missiles.

The Biden administration has continued the Trump policy of challenging China’s illegal maritime claims to most of the South China Sea.

As to the Air Force deployment, a statement from the Pacific Air Force said that:

More than 35 aircraft and approximately 800 Airmen from Pacific Air Forces and Air Combat Command will deploy to the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command’s area of responsibility in July to participate in Operation Pacific Iron 2021.

Pacific Iron 2021 is a PACAF dynamic force employment operation to project forces into the USINDOPACOM’s area of responsibility in support of the 2018 National Defense Strategy (NDS) which called on the military to be a more lethal, adaptive, and resilient force.

Approximately 25 F-22 Raptor stealth fighters, ten F-15E Strike Eagle fighter bombers, two C-130J Hercules transport planes from bases in the U.S. and the region, along with 800 airmen, will conduct “combat dispersal operations” in Guam and Tinian.

The combat aircraft and crews will be coming from locations as far afield as Idaho, Alaska, Hawaii (Air National Guard), and Yokota Air Base, Japan.

This unusually large single deployment of 25 F-22 Raptor fifth-generation stealth fighters represents a larger force of fifth-generation fighters than China has in its entire inventory. And that’s the point of the exercise.

“We have never had this many Raptors deployed together in the Pacific Air Forces area of operations,” Gen. Ken Wilsbach, Pacific Air Forces commander, told CNN.

Carl Schuster, a Hawaii-based defense analyst told CNN that the U.S. “Pacific Air Force is demonstrating that it can deploy as many or more fifth-generation aircraft into the theater on short notice than (China) currently has” in its whole air force and navy combined.

  1. Ain’t this great! He turns Afghanistan over to the Taliban and starts a war with China. Will someone please put this demented crackpot in the home already!

    1. News for you—“HE” is not in charge—probablya few or group of “Far-left-leaning Stupidos”—The longer they stay in power—the less chance we have to correct all of these mistakes–What-to-do????

  2. The frigging BUFFOON keeps poking his nose picker into a hornets nest and it will cost a lot of lives.

    1. He has already placed his BUFOONERY on display for the entire world to see. This move is just to insure that any doubt about it is removed.

  3. Biden the CATHOLIC traitor is following along the ‘reelygion’ lines. Catholics: A thousand years and exactly 100% FAILURE.

  4. The Air Force isn’t used to having our opponents fighting back. They’ve pretty much owned the airspace above the banana republics we’ve confronted, so dogfights, SAM missiles and other anti-aircraft weapons were not in abundance. China not only has fighters, they have the latest RADAR, SAM technology and the means to guide their weapons toward our planes. North Vietnam proved to be a formidable foe against our fighters and bombers, and their ground troops were just as effective. That skirmish dragged on for quite awhile before Nixon put the brakes on further military involvement in that region. What will become apparent if Numb Nuts gets us into this skirmish is that our troops levels will quickly need replenishment, and that will mean another draft. Don’t be alarmed when our young men refuse to fight after the SCOTUS exempted females from that obligation.

    1. Exaggerated inaccuracies. Although we respected the NVA, they were outgunned and our Air Power was devastating where the NVA were massed up. Our success over N. Vietnam was highly handicapped due to target restrictions on high value targets. The war had become more political with a anti-insurgency posture, rather than the will to win. Our young men will refuse to fight after SCOTUS exempted females from that obligation? Hogwash. Historically females have always been exempted from that obligation. The biggest threat to our readiness now is the push for our military to be woke and racialized, which is a threat to unity. By the way, Nixon put the brakes on because we were negotiating a Honorable withdrawal from Vietnam and wanted minimal casualties and the South was expected to pick up the slack, which of course did not work out well, not well at all.

      1. Vietnam followed Korea. Do you have excuses for our not achieving victory in that theater? Our Vietnam soldiers were demoralized not only from the conduct of that conflict, but because Americans were getting sick of that conflict, and they protested the war and those who fought it. Our brave soldiers arrived home to be spat upon and berated by Americans. The Afghanistan fighters will at least not suffer a similar fate, even though their conflict (As minor as it was) lasted longer than Vietnam. All wars are political, and liberals are the politicians who orchestrate those wars. You seem to forget that our media is depicting females as consummate combatants, capable of excelling in all combat disciplines, and they’re willing participants when conflicts erupt. The draft should be a welcome opportunity for our little warriors to prove their mettle when the fighting results in troop losses which warrant mandatory conscription to replenish. Why aren’t those women protesting boisterously about DISCRIMINATION in our Military Draft?

      2. Actually, you’ve validated a point I’ve made about those wars. WWI culminated with the Versailles Treaty, allowing Britain to annex Palestine, a key component of the Zionist plan to establish a Jewish Homeland. (Read the Balfour Declaration). WWII somehow unleashed communists to expand their territory into Eastern Europe. Korea placed a Communist guarded border on the 38th Parallel. Vietnam handed the keys to Saigon over to communists. It seems when ardent proponents of that ideology field belligerent troops for the purpose of conquering nations, America winds up softening the gentry for those commies to march into said nations. Cuba would also be an example.

      1. There are also anti-ship weapons that will neutralize carriers with a single salvo. Once the level of weaponry approaches this potency, nukes are not far behind. I was wondering why Odumbo was fooling around in Pakistan, which could have resulted in a nuclear exchange. Numb Nuts is inviting that prospect if our troops start pushing toward Beijing. Those people are fanatics, and their armies are not rag tag street gangs.

  5. Fact: China is not a threat to American technology and military strength, but, Democrats are not willing to win wars! Just profit from them. As we have witnessed over the years they are willing to do anything at OUR cost. Human life means nothing to them, only padding their pockets.

    1. PULLEASE!! China kicked our butt in Korea with basic weaponry. U.S. warfare technology is more akin to video games than an effective combat resource. The planes we’re currently fielding as first line fighters are not only hideously expensive, they’re hideously complex and basically hangar queens. Our commanders will have to weigh the cost of a technologically muscle bound fighter against the risk of taking out a machine gun nest. They’ll send in the grunt with wings (A-10. We used to joke that the Warthog would UGLY our enemies into submission) instead of risking all that money. The Chinese have front line weapons, and they’re quite capable of employing those weapons with full effectiveness. If you’re so confident about our ability to suppress the Chinese, why don’t you go over there and sling a rifle on your shoulder?

    2. The Chinese have short memories. Prior to WWII, our AVG pilots fought against Japanese bombers during their campaign to conquer China. They also hosted our Doolittle Raiders after they bombed Japan. Communists are not appreciative of international good will and mutual protection agreements. They only seek to dominate each population they can either cajole into accepting their rule, or knuckle under after military aggression. I think it’s best if the U.S. avoids knuckling under to those fanatics.

      1. Should have let Japan conquer China. Or better yet, we should have never opened up trade with communist China.

        1. Trade is only necessary–and beneficial–when America is energy independent, and we manufacture our staple goods within our boundaries, using domestic raw materials, labor and energy sources. Things we DON’T need can be obtained from foreign sources. But our country should not have its ‘balls’ in the grip of cartels and Globalist financiers finagling the costs of our energy.

  6. Glad to see some movement to countering the Chinese threat! Let them know that we are still a force to be reckoned with. Just be sure and leave the Woke crap at home.
Afghanistan pullout was a mistake that the Afgan’s are paying a high price for. The US has made a few sorry ass mistakes that cost us and other country’s dearly. Korea and Vietnam come to mind.

    1. We’ve ‘countered’ communists for decades before China adopted that ideology. They’re now capable of not only defending themselves, but they’re engaging in regional conflicts to expand their territory. I don’t believe Numb Nuts is THAT stupid to initiate an armed conflict with the Chinese. He’ll ‘err’ on the side of caution, and rattle his sword toward those people in order to appear as a determined warrior, while concomitantly placing America (again) on Cold War footing, with a proportional expansion of government powers to boot. That numb skull couldn’t fight his way out of a paper bag.

  7. China fears the US,Japan, their all talk, with the Quad, and others, china would have their hands full. They would never pull this against Trump, but with bumbling, blithering, dementia, slo,joe the laughing stock of the world, they might get brave, and make a great blunder.

    1. They’re ‘talking’ right now with flotillas of ships marauding around ocean regions looking to conquer Taiwan, and form a barrier to any approaching naval or airborne forces. The Chinese are fanatical fighters, and they can field an army that would make America’s version look like a Boy Scout troop. I’ve always said what the Chinese do best is make more Chinese. They can also rally those people to become determined warriors.

  8. A show of force is one thing but the problem will be settled through negotiations and agreements behind the scenes. no one with a sound mind would want a war today with any major nuclear armed Country.

    1. Unfortunately, our leader is lacking a sound mind. Whoever is pulling his strings, he’ll reflexively obey. (Epstein just may have been one of those string pullers. What’s her name is also carefully guarded to prevent her from revealing information.) His son’s laptop contained a watershed of damning evidence that should have sent our “Healer” to Leavenworth.

  9. This is exactly what the Chinese want. They want to show their might to set precedent on. The global floor that they are the new superpower. Biden is doing nothing to strengthen our military. We have no chance against the Chinese military.

  10. Bullshit! China demanded that Biden hand over Afghanistan and He pulled all of our Troops out and handed it over!

    1. You may have a point there. Hunter’s presence in (And profit from) China has never been explained. These Globalist finaglers are people we should marginalize, and expose their agendas (One of those agendas being the depopulation of the world) for the edification of populations to consider. The more these people expand their influence, the less freedoms and sovereignty we’ll enjoy.

  11. Once in a great while I will tune in to the fake news media and they say this Biden fella is
just a lovable, sweet old curmudgeon who wouldn’t hurt a fly. He’s just misunderstood !
    Yeah, right .

    1. Our military VIP planes have placards to denote the highest ranking person onboard. An Eagle symbol means a full colonel. One star means a brigadier general. Two and three stars are major and lieutenant generals respectively, with the fourth star being a general. For Biden, they had to devise a symbol. Finally, they came up with an appropriate symbol: A human anus fringed with licks of flame

  12. I was thinking along the same lines – that Joe was acting crazy with this plan of action to send a message to CCP. But then I read further – Joe is continuing to use a Trump policy in a show of might planned to keep this regional area from being taken over by China. So we need to think through our reaction again, and not assume because sleepy Joe is agreeing to this plan, it’s a bad one (as I did at first 😬). If we assume it’s a terrible plan because it’s being carried out under the current administration, are we reacting because it seems to be Joe’s plan – or because it’s truly a bad plan?

  13. If you don’t cut off and turn a stampede it will continue to run over and destroy everything in its path. Good decision

  14. Even the lefties know their lives were way better under a TRUMP administration, but they went ahead and voted Joe anyway, even though Joe did nothing for 5 decades, now there’s a sign of shear stupidity, half of Americans are ignorant brainwashed democrats.

  15. May have to start a pretty big war to protect Hunter…

    …and appease his CCP masters

    This is Kabuki…

  16. Sleepy Joe not doing anything, we all that Obama is running the show. Something needs to be said about ex-presidents still being in charge.

  17. We only have so many Raptors to deploy, and they’re not being made anymore (For good reason…) I’m sure the Chinese are shaking in their Gucci Knock Off boots as these planes approach their airspace. Americans don’t have much interest in our government fomenting conflicts. Even stupid liberals will eventually come to the realization that the ‘healers’ they voted into office are bellicose and globalist oriented. They would sell us down the river in a heartbeat to comply with the dictates of their handlers. Our country is in deep trouble, and the last thing we need is to conduct costly, orchestrated conflicts in foreign countries. Making America self sufficient would go a long way toward restoring our sovereignty, plus our economic and national security. Numb Nuts is now demonstrating how we’ve gone down the wrong path.

  18. Why? What “harm” to the US is China doing in the South China Sea. Does the US have any territory and/or interests there that are threatened? Another wargonering gesture by the US gubment. This could easily start another REAL war and for what?
