Multiple PBS affiliates that receive millions in federal funds are facing criticism for airing a pro-Chinese government documentary co-produced by China Global Television Network (CGTN) a state-owned media organization.
KOCE-TV and KCET, both serving Los Angeles, are among the PBS affiliates airing a documentary touting China’s authoritarian President Xi Jinping’s poverty alleviation work.
The Daily Caller’s Chuck Ross has more:
The film, “Voices from the Frontline: China’s War on Poverty,” did not disclose CGTN’s links to the Chinese government. Nor did it detail the ties that the film’s producer, Robert Lawrence Kuhn, has to Chinese officials and the government’s State Council Information Office, which specializes in foreign propaganda.

PBS affiliate KOCE, known as PBS SoCal, helped produce the film and premiered it Monday. KCET, which merged with KOCE in 2018, will air the show on Saturday. Other PBS affiliates, including in Idaho and Las Vegas, have either already aired the film or plan to do so later this month.
The one-hour documentary touts Chinese President Xi Jinping’s initiative to alleviate poverty in China by this year.
“In the last forty years, China’s economic development has lifted more than 700 people out of poverty,” reads the introductory script in the film.
China has a population of around 1.428 billion.
CGTN is listed as a foreign agent by the Justice Department, alongside propaganda outlets like Russia Today (RT).

PBS is just one step removed from COMMUNISM. So I can believe that they would join with China in trying to brainwash the people of America.

In the 1800′ s there was attempt at eliminating property rights and christianity. The property rights elimination was attempted under Oscummer with the water rights act that if a body of water is on your property or flows through it, you are responsible for any increases in pollution with a mile long list of pollutants. I dislike the title of this. When I read that PBS was “blasting” Chinese propaganda I assumed that it meant that PBS was severely criticizing it, not the other way around.
That is what I thought too.
Not sending any more money to this charity…I never did understand why they recd any kind of support from the Federal govt anyhow…all the dang Hollywood liberals ought to be sending gobs of money to this station…I am disgusted.

Well, in our area about seven years ago, PBS had a three hour show on Easter (and we didn’t even get to see the Easter Parade) on Islam and their prophet. It was just wonderful with the lead “star” being an American English convert to Islam taking a trip to Saudi Arabia to make her necessary one time life trip to run around the black box while the runners act like they are high on something. Of course she explained her prophet Mohammad while being on trains, cars, taxis, etc. and how excited she was to be a Muslim. She never mentioned that there was a reason why the only people in her train sections, etc. were women. We never got to see any Easter worship service while this three hour show was conveniently placed during Christian worship services. Well, it turned out that this foreign Arab man and wife from Pakistan were in this country to push Islam and to convert. The husband and wife were running a radio station, were on PBS with their three hour show and on our local networks selling the peaceful “religion” Islam and how good it is to be a Muslim. This all stopped a year later when the husband chopped off his wife’s head in their kitchen over an disagreement. The man is still in jail and their two children now being raised by the wife’s mother in Pakistan. Well, I am glad we have Easter back on our TV and on Sundays now in our area. There is just something about Mohammad that makes me think he actually hates women and loves having sex with slave girls and 11 year old wives. Creepy. It seems like the Islam he invented is basically a way to sexually control women for the men’s sexual needs and of course the women don’t dare fight it being the men have a nasty habit of beating their women in their homes with permission of Mohammad and the men have the right to chop off their women’s head for disobedience in and out of Islam’s court system. I don’t see Jesus ever, ever teaching anything toward women like Mohammad teaches. It was women and his twelve men who held the early Church together and got the Church large enough in numbers so it could survive any enemy against the Church through the years.
It’s time to cut funding to PBS and NPR and any other media outlets which receive handouts from the federal government but do nothing in return to stand up for their sponsors. It’s so much easier to bash the US especially when you’re doing it on the American dime.
