A report from The Atlantic is generating significant waves in the mainstream media today. The article claims that President Trump repeatedly disparaged American soldiers who were killed in action through anonymous sources.
The sources go so far to claim Trump refused to visit a First World War cemetery for fear inclement weather dampen his hair and mocked the American war dead.
There’s just one problem. Fox News sources are reporting something very different.
Two sources who were on the trip in question with Trump refuted the main thesis of The Atlantic’s reporting — that Trump canceled a trip to the Aisne-Marne American Cemetery, which is at the site of Belleau Wood, an important World War I battle, because he believed the dead soldiers to be “losers” and “suckers.”
The White House had said at the time the decision was made because of poor weather for flying Marine One and the fact that the cemetery was too far a distance for a motorcade to drive.
One of the sources who refuted the Atlantic’s reporting is not a fan of Trump. Both sources said that Trump was upset about not being able to go to Aisne-Marne and said they had never heard Trump refer to war dead at Aisne-Marne or in the battle of Bellau Wood as “losers” or “suckers.”

Former national security adviser John Bolton, who has openly opposed Trump, saying he will vote for neither the president nor Joe Biden in November, wrote a scathing memoir about his time in the White House. In a passage in that memoir, Bolton actually defends Trump over the decision not to go to the Aisne-Marne.

Meanwhile, CNN media ombudsman Brian Stelter, also not a Trump fan, called on the anonymous sources reportedly confiding in Jeffrey Goldberg, The Atlantic’s editor-in-chief, to come forward publicly.
Stelter called it “put up or shut up time.”

What is the meaning or definition of the phrase, “anonymous sources”? It means there is no source(s), because somebody made up the story to promote their own agenda, and in this case was to demean and denigrate President Trump in the hopes it would prevent President Trump from being re-elected.
The only problem with this lie is that those it is meant to discourage to vote for President Trump already know it is a lie, simply by what President Trump has done and continues to do for them, which Obama and Biden never did, but actually did the opposite for them, which brought hurt and harm to these people, the people serving in all our military divisions and their families.

Maybe the Atlantic got their presidents mixed up? Seems to me that Obama once made the comment that the only reason you would join the military is because you couldn’t do anything else. That would be saying that “you’re a loser”.

Does not surprise me at all that the President never uttered these words, but what is surprising is the sources who are saying he did not do any of this, perhaps they are beginning to wake up, just a little?
