A black man reportedly armed with a knife was fatally shot by police in Philadelphia Monday night.
Philadelphia Police Department representatives said that 27-year-old Walter Wallace refused to follow two officers’ orders to drop his weapon as they approached. The department’s explanation wasn’t sufficient for the hundreds of Philadelphians who took the streets.
More than thirty members of the PPD have been injured since — including one sergeant hit by a pickup truck. Police have arrested more than thirty rioters, among them five juveniles.

Authorities have not yet announced their charges. Philadelphia’s District Attorney, Larry Krasner, was a George Soros-backed candidate and has an infamously poor relationship with Philly PD.
Fox News further reports:
Five firearms were recovered from those arrested, police said.
The demonstrations quickly turned violent as some protesters were seen throwing objects at officers while at least one police vehicle was set on fire.
Cops cars and dumpsters were set on fire as police struggled to contain the crowds. More than a dozen officers, many with batons in hand, formed a line as they ran down 52nd Street chasing protesters away from the main thoroughfare. The crowd largely dispersed then.

Lauren Dawn Johnson, a reporter for FOX 29, took to Twitter to update her followers on the condition of the officers who suffered injuries.
