Based on a recent survey by the AP-NORC Center, a mere 30 percent of Americans hold a favorable view of President Joe Biden’s economy, highlighting a potential weak spot for his reelection aspirations. The poll aimed to gauge public sentiment towards the nation’s economic state, revealing that the majority—69 percent—considered it to be in poor condition. Even within the Democratic party, only 60 percent of respondents approved of Biden’s handling of the economy, while 39 percent expressed disapproval. Independents displayed an even higher level of dissatisfaction, with 64 percent voicing their displeasure.
In general, Biden’s popularity among independents registered at a meager 41 percent. Meanwhile, among Democrats, his approval rating was 71 percent, down from the 77 percent recorded in January. These figures of concern for Biden coincide with the commencement of his 2024 reelection campaign. In an effort to improve public perception of his economic policies, Biden introduced the term “Bidenomics,” asserting that it had positive effects. Nevertheless, Republicans promptly seized the opportunity to critique Biden’s economic approach, associating it with problems such as inflation, soaring fuel prices, and burdensome taxes.
The survey, conducted from June 22 to 26, 2023, encompassed the opinions of 1,220 American individuals, with a margin of error of approximately +/- 3.9 percent. The results indicate that a notable segment of the American populace holds unfavorable views regarding Biden’s economic performance, which could impact his prospects in future elections.
Biden approval should be 20%
