Colorado Mom Sues School Over Secret Gender and Sexuality Club
Poudre School District in Colorado is facing a lawsuit from Erin Lee, a mother of a sixth-grader at the school district, claiming that the district recruited sixth-graders for an after-school “art” club that was actually a gender and sexuality awareness club. According to Fox News, Lee’s daughter was one of the students invited to the club, where an outside presenter reportedly discussed sensitive topics like gender and sexuality, polyamory, and suicide.
Lee told Fox News’s Harris Faulker that the presenter “did absolutely unthinkable things with the kids.” According to Lee, the presenter also discussed puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, and warned students not to trust their parents. Lee claims that the school encouraged the club to be kept a secret from parents, and other parents who complained about the club went up to a year without knowing about it.

Poudre School District Silent On Gender Club Accusations Latest Accusations
The Poudre School District declined to comment on the specific allegations made by Lee.
The presenter who spoke at the gender and sexuality awareness club in Poudre School District is accused of discussing puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones, while also warning students not to consider their parents to be “safe” people to turn to. The district confirmed the club was school-sponsored and discussions in it “may be confidential,” according to a statement. The district promised to create inclusive and safe educational opportunities for all students, and established Genders and Sexualities Alliances (GSAs) as safe spaces for students to ensure inclusivity, safety, and support. The school told Fox News:
“In PSD, we promise to create and uphold equitable, inclusive, and rigorous educational opportunities, outcomes, and experiences for all students, as a district, we are committed to making our schools safe spaces in which all students can learn.
“Genders and Sexualities Alliances, or GSAs, were established as safe spaces for members of the LGBTQIA+ community, allies, and any individual to come together with the goals of ensuring inclusivity, safety, and support. Discussions in GSAs may be confidential given that they can sometimes be sensitive in nature (i.e. a student may be “out” with specific friends but not with the community at large),” it continued. “In PSD, a GSA club could be student-sponsored, which is started/run/led by a student and has an adult present at meetings; or school-sponsored, which is started/run/led by an adult. The GSA at Wellington Middle School is school-sponsored.”
The GSA at Wellington Middle School was organized by the school and led by an adult who had personal time with the children without the knowledge or consent of their parents. Despite this, the adult may not be held responsible for the conversations that took place within the club.
According to the mother who filed the lawsuit against Poudre School District, other parents who raised concerns about the club were left unaware of its existence for up to a year. Pam Bondi, the legal representative for the families in the case, stressed the importance of accountability and transparency in such matters.
