Afghanistan Won’t Collapse
“Your own intelligence community has assessed that the Afghan government will likely collapse,” a reporter noted at the July 8 presser. Biden denied it. “Can you please clarify what [intelligence officials] have told you?” he was asked. Biden fumed again: “They did not — they didn’t — did not reach that conclusion.”
He insisted that the idea there’s “going to be one unified government in Afghanistan controlling the whole country is highly unlikely.”
