GOP Representative Jim Jordan and Congresswoman Val Demings clashed on Tuesday during a hearing on a new hate crimes bill [HR1843 The COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act].
Demings objected to an amendment that would prevent police departments from being defunded, Jordan responded and things quickly escalated into a screaming match.

A House Judiciary Committee hearing on Tuesday devolved into a screaming match after Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) interrupted Rep. Val Demings (D-Fla.) as she criticized an amendment put forward by House Republicans.
Demings was criticizing a proposed amendment to a hate crimes bill that would prevent police agencies from being defunded. NBC News noted that the bill itself does not have a provision taking away funds from police departments.
The COVID-19 Hate Crimes Act, sponsored by Rep. Grace Meng (D-N.Y.), encourages the reporting and review of anti-Asian hate crimes relating to the coronavirus pandemic.
Val Demmings is practicing to take over Maxine Water’s job as crank of the House.

The actual fact is that finally a majority of Americans are no longer racist or racist leaning. When the youth of today are actually taught the proven facts they are looking at things so much different now and those same youth are the leaders in this USA.
There will be a lot of changes in this USA in the next few years, and those White Supremists will not be very welcome, they are already in the small minority of the population.
The Military one of the large breeding grounds for White Supremists, and I d know that first hand from serving 26 years in that military, are now taking actions to get rid of that attitude in this USA Military.
This USA has been known as a melting pot since about 1900 where any and all are equal in every aspect except finances.
You obviously didn’t serve in the same military that so many of my friends did. One of the comments I’ve heard from them over the years, is how the military was at the forefront of racial equity and neutrality. That we all bleed red.

Yes, I was a Marine and Vietnam vet. In all my time I only saw one aspect of racism and that was when I was told to get off a liberty bus filed with blacks as they claimed it was THEIR bus. In VN there was no racism as each man depended on the other t keep them safe.
Now we look at the Floyd trial where the word race and racist was never used but have the radical BLM, Black Caucus, and black leaders saying he sacrificed his life to remove rascism I guess he is now their vision of a black Christ. I will take my vision of who is the true life sacrifice of Christ.
Thanks for serving. My husband is a veteran, too, and I never saw racism at any of the bases where we were stationed. However, when he first went in and we were at Keesler AFB in MS, I saw a white guy and black female couple and wondered how they were doing here at a base in the South in 1973. When we were in Spain, an older mixed couple said they had been targeted a few times earlier in their lives, but I didn’t see any there. When our schools were intergraded in 1966, we only had a couple of problems at the high school, but in the junior high, everyone got along from day one, but I just found out today, though from some classmates, that after several years, some of the blacks in our class had said that they were scared to death. They hid it well, because I never knew.

When we have Congress persons who go against what the majority of the population are approving of. when the fact is there is nothing in the bill which says anything about defunding police. The majority of the population almost 64% want police reorganized under new rules which holds police accountable for their actions. It seems like the only people who are against police reform are the ones who in actuality live in White upper class neighborhoods and have no idea what the others who do not live in those neighborhoods put up with from police. Even when police are called to those upper class areas they respond entirely different, than in any other occasions.
Maybe Jordan, Cruz and Green for a few should go live in those neighborhoods for about 6 months, possibly they would look at things quite different.
I grew up in a poor neighborhood…you know what I learned as a Cuban, Puerto Rican in a WHITE neighborhood? The cops give you back what you give them. Show some respect, try not demanding it and feeling sorry for yourself and your situation…you’ll be surprised by what might happen to you.
