The conservative businessman, who was subject to investigation during the Russian Election Interference scandal in 2016, pleaded guilty on unrelated charges in 2019, when he was accused of defrauding investors in an oil development scheme. He was convicted to seven years in prison in 2020, nearly twice the Department of Justice’s recommended max sentence. President Trump granted him a full pardon to “right the wrongs of what has been revealed to be perhaps the greatest witch hunt in American History.”

    1. He didnt pardon him because McConnel threatened Trump by saying if he did the Senate would probably vote to impeach him
