OPINION – One of the key components of today’s geopolitical and even domestic battle spaces is the information or narrative warfare domain. From falsely labeling your domestic opponents ‘extremists,’ to euphemistically calling your foreign enemies ‘competitors,’ it is all part of the bigger battle for hearts and minds.

And one big mistake we all make is referring to the brutal one-party communist dictatorship repressing the Chinese people and various other ethnic groups – as China. It isn’t.

But, by doing so we easily fall into the deceptive trap of being labeled anti-Chinese, or anti-China. Which we clearly are not. Time to flip the narrative.

China is a beautiful country with amazing people, and a rich, vibrant, and ancient pre-communist history spanning almost three millennia. It also has a more recent, short, grotesque, and bloody, 70-year history under the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

This brief CCP history involves very recent dramatic economic progress – after finally borrowing capitalism from the west – but also includes the worst mass murders in human history. People’s Republic of China (PRC) founder, CCP Chairman Mae Zedong (Chairman Mao), murdered upwards of 45-60 million of his own people and caused the subjugation, death, and misery of millions more.

Mao surpassed even ‘Uncle Joe’ Stalin in the USSR and Adolph Hitler in Nazi Germany for the title of history’s worst mass murderer. And the CCP oppression continues to this day.

This is ‘CCP China,’ not ‘China.’

And this is a critical distinction we must make. Just as the Allies in World War Two referred to ‘Nazi Germany’ and ‘Imperial Japan’ to highlight the horrible ideologies and regimes we were fighting, as opposed to the country or people, so too we must refer to CCP or Communist China as the foe, not China itself.

We are battling a dictatorial police state that enslaves and systematically represses its people, crushes democracy in Hong Kong, subjugates ethnic and religious minorities in TibetChristians, and others throughout China, and is conducting cultural, if not actual, genocide against its Muslim Uyghur population in Xinjiang. All while also daily threatening to invade and crush its Chinese brothers and sister on Taiwan.

The CCP is the enemy. Not China. And this is a critical distinction in our information/narrative war with the CCP. So, let’s stop calling it ‘China.’ – it’s ‘CCP China.’ Or just – the CCP.  Start calling it that today.

  1. So true! I have several dear brothers and sisters in Christ whom I’ve known for years that were able to escape communist China and come to the U.S. LEGALLY!!! They will tell you without blinking an eye that the majority of everyday people in China would gladly trade the CCP for an American style democracy and representative form of government. Sadly, Uncle Joe can’t see China without looking through the lens of the CCP because they own him and his family.

    1. If we allow the commiecrats to turn America into a China where will the brothers and sisters in Christ run to? I’m not trying to be funny. I’m serious. We had better be ready to stand and fight WHEN the time comes. And I’m afraid that time is almost here

  2. I agree the CCP claims to represent China, but I am sure many people do not express their disagreement with the CCP for fear of retribution.

  3. Same with many other countries. The change will be when GOD changes it. Time is getting shorter too for it will happen sometime in the near future. Signs and seasons tell it as the bible tells of it. Trump is still the man.

  4. I call the CCP by another name – Red China. There is another China, free China or the Republic of China (ROC) in exile on the island of Taiwan. I view the ROC as the legitimate China and the one the British should have returned Hong Kong to instead of to Red China.

    1. You are so right. General Marshall should have been court-marshaled for helping Mao instead of Chiang Kai-shek.

  5. You’ve got it right, Crespo. The true enemy is the Chinese Communist Party. Let’s bury that party of mass-murderers, and their buddy, Joe Biden, with them!

  6. Funny thing about Communists – they always claim to represent “the people” or “the workers” when, in fact, under Communism, the people are repressed and terrorized, and the workers receive slave wages at best.

  7. I am creating an honest wage from home 1900 Dollars/week , that is wonderful, below a year gone i used to be unemployed during an atrocious economy. I convey God on a daily basis. I used to be endowed with these directions and currently it’s my duty to pay it forward and share it with everybody,

  8. As someone who has lived in Hong Kong for 52 years, under the British Colonial power and the present semi-autonomous administration, and witnessed firsthand the brutal conflicts on the streets of HK in 2019, I categorically refute your statement that the CCP brutally suppressed the democratic movement in HK. The Chinese government stayed well out of these unpleasant street battles. The only deaths that occurred were at the hands of these so-called fighters for freedom and democracy. Not one death resulted from police action no matter what social media might suggest. It was a well-known and irrefutable fact that the equipment, arms, logistical, and moral support these street fighters received was primarily provided by the US government. Hong Kong suffered many months of vicious rioting throughout its territory. I lived in the northern town of Sheung Shui and personally witnessed to firebombing of our local railway station including a train in the station, and the unbelievable destruction of ticket booths, turnstiles, escalators, and attempts to derail trains moving along the tracks with passengers on board. Multi-story, ultra-modern shopping malls were seriously vandalised including the burning down of a 100 foot Christmas tree in one centre. Here in HK we were amused to see identical tactics being used by rioters on the streets of Portland and Seattle. You lot have absolutely no idea what you are talking about.

  9. It’s semantics. By referring to “China” as opposed to the CCP, people are actually referencing the CCP and not the people or country. Just as referring to Russia or Iran means the governing body, not the country. Why do people like Paul Crespo have to be so litteral? “Come on man”.

    1. It is important just because there are two China’s: one legitimate and one illegitimate. To call the illegitimate (communist) one “China” does a disservice to the 30-60 million dead due to the takeover.

  10. I read “The years of the hungry Tiger” in my teens all about Mao and his little red book , trying to turn human beings into obedient Robots! Satanic! CCP have been behind a lot of misery, not jsut in China but around the World

  11. Just because you don’t say it don’t make it true!

Remove all these communist, marxist, socialist, progressive, stalinists, leninists, pedophile protector democrats from office!   Period.

  12. Fancy words. That’s like saying, quit calling Texas, Texas, because so many people from other states are moving in. The PLACE, the COUNTRY, is still China. CCP may not “be” China but there is no separation of the two right now.

  13. Stop calling it the CCP. It is Communist China or Red China. China is temporarily located on the small island of Taiwan.
