A retired U.S. Army officer and native of Iowa, Miller served with various special operations organizations, culminating with his command of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Special Forces Group (A Team).

More specifically, his bio states that:

Mr. Miller participated in the initial combat operations in Afghanistan in 2001 and Iraq in 2003, in addition to numerous follow-on deployments to both theaters, and has extensive inter-agency and joint special operations experience. Upon retirement from the Army in 2014, Mr. Miller worked for over two years as a defense contractor providing clandestine Special Operations and Intelligence expertise directly to the Under Secretaries of Defense for Intelligence and Policy.

He has a master’s degree in National Security Studies from the Naval War College and is a graduate of both the Naval College of Command and Staff and the Army War College.

Miller will face some serious challenges as Acting Secretary of Defense during a tumultuous, still undecided presidential election period, and even more so if Joe Biden is officially certified as President-Elect.

This is a developing story. More to come.

  1. Chris Miller is a top notch professional and well suited for the position. We served together in the 5th SFG(A) at fort Campbell. He is the caliber of individual we need to lead as Secretary of Defense. Congratulations to both president Trump and Chris Miller.

  2. It must have been hard for President Trump coming in cold turkey to a hostile Washington. Especially after Obama and Clinton and Soros had sullied the whole system. But he has a lot of experience in all aspects of property development, international trade, Business entrepreneurship, and much more, but now dealing with the swamp creatures and their skullduggery
