Alex Trebek’s “Jeopardy!” replacement has resigned as the show’s host before he has even started, according to a press statement.
The Daily Caller reports:
Mike Richards, who is the executive producer for Jeopardy!, was recently tapped to lead the show.
Richards announced Friday that while he was “deeply honored to be asked to host the syndicated show and was thrilled by the opportunity to expand my role,” it has “become clear that moving forward as host would be too much of a distraction for our fans and not the right move for the show.”
“I want to apologize to each of you for the unwanted negative attention that has come to Jeopardy! over the last few weeks and for the confusion and delays this is now causing. I know I have a lot of work to do to regain your trust and confidence.”
Richards said the search for a permanent host continues, but guest hosts will continue production for the new season. Richards came under fire from the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) and others for “disparaging remarks about Jews, women & Asians.”

What “disparaging remarks” had he made?
It was probably petty nonsense. People are too sensitive nowadays.
