Target stores in multiple states had to be evacuated over the weekend due to bomb threats, believed to be a response to the removal of certain items associated with Pride Month. The threats targeted locations in Louisiana, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Oklahoma, with anonymous individuals contacting local news outlets via email. The content of these emails revealed that the perpetrators were deeply upset about the withdrawal of pro-LGBTQ merchandise, considering it a form of betrayal.

An email sent to KFOR, an Oklahoma City NBC affiliate, specifically mentioned seven stores in the Oklahoma City area, claiming that two of them had hidden explosive devices. The sender issued an ominous warning, stating that the bombs would detonate within a few hours, and challenged the recipients to identify the targeted stores, saying:

“The bombs will detonate in several hours, guess which ones have the bombs. Time is ticking.” Strikingly, the email concluded with the date “4/19/1995,”

The email concluded with the date “4/19/1995,” which refers to the Oklahoma City bombing carried out by domestic terrorists Timothy McVeigh and Terry Nichols.

The 1995 bombing involved McVeigh parking a rental truck packed with explosives outside the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building, a nine-story office complex housing various federal agencies. The devastating blast resulted in the loss of 168 lives, including 19 children, and left more than 500 people injured.

According to a report by Newsmax, South Burlington Police Chief Shawn Burke has made the following remarks:

Shawn Burke, the police chief of South Burlington, Vermont, said that news outlets in Vermont, New Hampshire, and New York all received the same email bomb threat over the weekend. The threat accused Target of betraying the LGBTQ+ community and named the locations of four stores in the three states, including South Burlington.

“I think it had quite an impact locally. It makes people a little bit uneasy to think about what’s going on. We’re more and more seeing this type of behavior in terms of swatting at schools locally and in terms of stores like Target,” Burke said.

Additionally, there have been reports of individuals, claiming dissatisfaction with the removal of Pride Month merchandise, making bomb threats against Target stores in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Utah. These incidents have emerged in the wake of a tragic event in Nashville, where Audrey Hale, a 28-year-old transgender, perpetrated a shooting at a Christian elementary school in March 2023, resulting in the loss of several children’s lives.

This concerning pattern sheds light on an increase in acts of violence or threats from individuals who associate themselves with the transgender and LGBTQ community, motivated by political opposition. It is essential to note that while such incidents take place, the political right often faces an unjust characterization as being inherently dangerous. At the same time, there is a growing concern as many observe a degree of sympathy and support within the political left and among those affiliated with the LGBTQ community toward individuals who propagate political violence against innocent individuals.

  2. So, this is the type of people in the gay community ready to blow up stores if you do not agree with them. They are the fascist.

  3. Target has made its bed by promoted the gay and trans agenda in the beginning instead of just doing its job and delivering a product. Now both conservatives and gays/trans people are upset. That’s what Target deserves due to its political indoctrination efforts in support of a small group.

  4. Now the truth come out. It is the LGBT that are terrorist haters of anybody that does not bow down to their toxic perverted agenda.
