Democrat Senators Joe Manchin and Chuck Schumer have now announced their interest in potentially enacting significant tax hikes in order to cut the deficit and fight inflation.
As Bloomberg reports:
(Bloomberg) — Key holdout Senator Joe Manchin said Tuesday he discussed a tax increase and deficit reduction bill with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer as a way to reduce soaring inflation.
The West Virginia Democrat said he is open to using the fast-track budget process to bypass Republicans and ram corporate and individual tax increases through the Senate given that the GOP wants to “keep things the way they are” in the tax code. Manchin said that it would make sense to include cuts to prescription drug costs in the package, which would need the support of all 50 Senate Democrats.
“We talked about the tax code and doing something to combat inflation. He is just as concerned about inflation as I am,” Manchin said leaving Schumer’s office.

Manchin and Schumer met as the Senate returned to Washington from a two-week recess and lawmakers are hoping to make progress on President Joe Biden’s stalled domestic agenda before the end of May. Manchin’s opposition sank the $2 trillion package in December.
The inability to get Manchin’s support for President Biden’s ‘Build Back Better’ agenda has been one of the main holdups for the Democrat legislative agenda.

It’s important to raise corporate taxes, at least on Republican, small businesses, so they will have to raise their prices. Big Democrat billionaires usually have adequate loopholes, or they will also raise prices. The consumer always pays corporate taxes, as well as their own. Now we can add the Democrat tax increase onto the inflation caused by their unlimited spending to destroy America by funding every anti-Christian country and program, not only in America, but in the world.

Of course, cutting spending is not in the offing, it? No, I didn’t think so.
Actually, Manchin has fought doggedly in favor of cutting BBB down from over 3 trillion to about half that amount. He has been vilified and misrepresented tremendously on account of that.
Among the pieces of disinformation is that Biden gave him all he was asking for on BBB. Biden would rather BBB die than support the Hyde Amendment, but the mainstream media are suppressing the fact that the Hyde Amendment is an issue between them. It has saved billions in taxpayer money over the years.
If our elected Representatives and Senators, and all federal employees had to pay taxes, without being able to deduct their federal salaries, if the spending exceeded a citizen selected committee approved necessary budget, I wager our government would be smaller and much more efficient and those serving us would be a lot more careful about spending our tax money so freely!
Raising corporate taxes would only increase inflation.

Although I agree with Manchin about many things, like all good Democrats, he can always find a way to take more money from the middle class, either directly or indirectly.

The Country is headed for a major recession. The last thing you want to do is to raise taxes.
The best way to help America is for the Democrats to stop spending money our country doesn’t have, quit the give aways, quit forgiving debts, close open borders creating tremendous debt on taxpayers looking after these needy people who drain our medical, educational and social entities. We cannot take in every economic refugee like we are currently doing. Last year 2 million, next year more,especially if Title 42 goes away. Border patrol anticipates 18K A DAY will cross our southern border. We are losing 100K young people between 18 and 45 due to fentenol the cartels are bringing into out country. The tax and spend attitude of the Dems is crashing our country. They are just buying votes using our tax money.
