An unidentified special agent from the IRS’s criminal investigations division, known as “Whistleblower X,” has released an opening statement ahead of his testimony before the House Committee on Oversight and Accountability, which will occur on Wednesday, around 1:00 pm. The statement signifies an earnest call for reform and accountability in the ongoing investigation of Hunter Biden’s tax affairs.

Whistleblower X claims:

“I have witnessed the corrosion of ethical standards and the abuse of power that threaten our nation. It is within this context that I have chosen to shed light on these actions and expose those responsible.”

The objective of the agent is to bring attention to underlying problems that have facilitated the growth of misconduct within the Department of Justice (DOJ).

On Wednesday, both Whistleblower X and Gary Shapley, an IRS agent actively participating in the investigation, are scheduled to provide testimony. The testimony is anticipated to address the purported influence-peddling activities involving the Biden family overseas, as well as the handling of Hunter Biden’s case by the DOJ.

The Whistleblower, who has served in the IRS since 2010, fears retaliation by the DOJ, stating:

“I believe that the Delaware USAO and DOJ-Tax have a clear target on me and my supervisors back and they are just waiting for an opportunity to pounce on us.”

He also disputes U.S. Attorney David Weiss’ approach, saying that Hunter should face a tax felony, not a misdemeanor. He concludes:

“We need to treat each taxpayer the same under law,” indicating a perceived mishandling of the investigation due to the Biden family’s reputation in Delaware.
