New Hampshire Democrats are rushing to defend Democrat State Representative Stacie
Laughton after Laughton’s latest arrest, this time for stalking.
Laughton, the state’s first transgender lawmaker, was arrested for violating a domestic violence
order by stalking.
Laughton has previously been arrested for crimes ranging from theft to calling in false bomb
threats, including bomb threat and false 911 report charges filed while an elected official.
Despite multiple arrests, with Democrats just two seats away from claiming a majority in the
state house, some Democrats are rushing to defend Laughton.
“Rep.Laughton is a lifelong Granite Stater,” State Rep. Timothy Horrigon, a Durham Democrat,
writes on Twitter, “She’s gotten into a lot of trouble over the years & she keeps getting into
trouble, but she’s basically a good person.”

“She’s not violent or abusive, or harmful to anyone other than herself,” Horrigon claims.
But that doesn’t appear to be the case, based on Laughton’s arrest record and the fact she is
currently the subject of a domestic violence protective order, after her first election in 2012.
The New Hampshire Journal reports:
Laughton’s criminal history is far from victimless. She was convicted in 2008 of credit
card fraud for stealing from a person in Laconia. In 2015, Laughton was charged with
calling in a bomb threat at the Southern New Hampshire Medical Center hospital in
Nashua. These charges were later dropped as Laughton claimed she was suffering
from a mental health crisis at the time.Last year, as a sitting state representative, Laughton was charged with several counts
of sending false texts to the city’s 911 system. Laughton claimed she did not send the
texts in question, and the state and city party did seemingly nothing about her
continuing legal adventures.The protective order Laughton violated was issued in July, months before both the
September Democratic primaries and last week’s midterm elections. That meant state
and local Democrats were aware of Laughton’s actions and could have taken action.

Mental illness manifests in a myriad of ways, mostly destructive.
When you have a legislator of this caliber, who is basically a good person despite a fairly long
history of run ins with the law. It makes the rest of us (basically) jealous that we have been by some quirk or fate denied such special representation. “IT” will continue to make New Hampshire proud, as the Democrats defend their honor.
Much like the Democrat Party has made our nation proud. How? By putting an equally basically good person, with some apparent criminal behavior, and some minor dementia, in charge of our nation. The gift that keeps on taking!
Truly, HE is a blessing to our nation that is almost impossible for us to bear. One wonders, when he is through, will there be a semblance of our former nation left, to receive future blessings?
