New Census Bureau data reveals major U.S. cities are seeing their populations collapse as hundreds of thousands of residents flee between 2020 and 2021, and they tell pollsters they’re leaving over failed liberal policies.

New York and San Francisco led the nation in localities whose share of population decreased, with 6.9 percent of New York County’s population moving away between April 2020 and June 2021.  San Francisco County saw 6.7 percent of its residents flee over the same time.

In all, hundreds of thousands have fled major metropolitan areas.

“When ranked by the actual net number of people by which their populations declined (as opposed to the percentage), the Top Three counties were Los Angeles County, California, which had a population decline of 184,465 from April 1, 2020 to July 1, 2021; New York County, which had a population decline of 117,375; and Cook County (which includes Chicago), which had a population decline of 102,395,” CNS news reports.

Of the ten U.S. counties with the largest percentage declines in population, eight were in Democrat-run states.

Residents of these area specifically say they want to flee liberal policies.  A Morning Consult conducted for the Partnership for New York City finds a stunning 40 percent of New York City residents are considering leaving over the results of liberal policies.

“Ninety-four percent of those polled said that not enough is being done to address homelessness and mental illness in the city, followed by assaults and gun violence, citing these as major contributors to safety on the streets and subways,” the PFNYC announced.

The PFNYC finds 40 percent of Manhattan residents, and 48 percent of residents of New York City’s other boroughs, are considering moving away.

The only counties in Republican-run states were Williams County, North Dakota, which saw its 2010 population of around 22,000 temporarily double to around 41,000 then slip to around 38,000 due to fracking activity, and Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana, which saw its population of around 200,000 dip after 2020’s Hurricane Laura caused widespread flooding that destroyed homes.
