Russia has now reversed gas flows on a key pipeline that supplies Europe with much of its energy.
As The Daily Wire reports:
Part of a key pipeline transporting natural gas from Russia to Europe suddenly reversed its flow direction Tuesday, Reuters reported.
The pipeline is operated by the Russian state-owned energy giant Gazprom and is one of three routes the company uses to export natural gas to western Europe. The Yamal-Europe pipeline is responsible for 10% of the region’s natural gas supplies, meaning a substantial flow shift could lead to much higher energy prices for many European consumers.
Overall, Russia is responsible for approximately 47% of European gas imports, the most recent Eurostat data showed.
“If Russia stops the gas supply to Europe, it could have a seismic impact on European energy,” International Energy Agency (IEA) Executive Director Fatih Birol told the Guardian in an interview last month. “(Russia) has to consider the consequences if existing oil and gas supplies to Europe are halted.”

The U.S. has the ability to export LPG to Europe, IF we still have enough operating wells to furnish the supply. The current regimes “war on fossil energy” may be a roadblock to producing an exportable quantity though. In fact, part of our Northeast is importing LPG from South America via ship because politics has blocked the construction of a short, about 200 mile long gas pipeline to the region. It looks like Washington played right into a situation Putin saw and is now set to benefit from.
Is this really a surprise? Europe should be the first to Act, this is on the continent of Europe, a direct threat to the rest of Europe, right at its doorstep. They have to wait until article 5 is violated to act.? Wasn’t NATO in Afghanistan, not being prevent by article 5. Didn’t they participate in both of the Persian Gulf Wars? Are we to understand that any country that threatens the use of nuclear weapons, is all it takes for everyone to fold up and quit? We are still waiting to find out why stinger missiles, and javelin missiles are OK to ship in without pissing off the Russians, but planes, and Ukraine has the piolets to use, will really upset them, do the Russians have bad piolets? None of the Actions by Europe or the United States makes any sense at all, right along with not going full speed ahead to produce our own oil. It is not the oil companies, it is this Administration, there is something Evil behind all this.
