According to a new report, the IRS has now partnered with a Virginia firm in order to create software which would require taxpayers to undergo facial recognition scans in order to view their tax returns online.

As Zero Hedge reports:

According to KrebsonSecurity, the IRS announced that by the summer of 2022, the only way to log into irs.gov will be through ID.me. Founded by former Army Rangers in 2010, the McLean-based company has evolved to providing online ID verification services which several states are using to help reduce unemployment and pandemic-assistance fraud. The company claims to have 64 million users.

As far as security goes, CEO Blake Hall told Krebs last year that the company is ‘certified against the NIST 800-63-3 digital identity guidelines” and “employs multiple layers of security, and fully segregates static consumer data tied to a validated identity from a token used to represent that identity.”

“We take a defense-in-depth approach, with partitioned networks, and use very sophisticated encryption scheme so that when and if there is a breach, this stuff is firewalled,” said Hall. “You’d have to compromise the tokens at scale and not just the database. We encrypt all that stuff down to the file level with keys that rotate and expire every 24 hours. And once we’ve verified you we don’t need that data about you on an ongoing basis.”

Krebs believes that things such as facial recognition for establishing one’s identity is a “Plant Your Flag” moment, because “Love it or hate it, ID.me is likely to become one of those places where Americans need to plant their flag and mark their territory, if for no other reason than it will probably be needed at some point to manage your relationship with the federal government and/or your state.”

Will Americans calmly stand by and submit to the potential new requirements to submit to facial recognition scans? Let us know what you think in the comments below.

It would simplify many areas of our lives but at the same time empower the administration of that site to be able to also use your information against you. As our lives have been changed in so many ways in the past two years, I have become cynical and mistrusting of so many things! Can’t we all just get along? And quit this hate and mistrust? The world as I have known it is beyond belief!

It will never be the same as it used to be again, it will only get worse. The lust for power and control is too great. They don’t want to “get along”, they want total control over us.They forcibly steal our money and redistribute it to those that they deem “needy”. Now they intend to ID us taxpayers when an EBT card ( food stamps) used to spend our money on sodas, candy, chips, most anything, has no name, no picture, no ID required.

You hit the nail on the head. The lust for power and control is too great. For that reason we must fight these unAmerican, unconstitutional onslaughts with every fiber of our being.

I will no longer trust any government official or agency with anything. If you do it’s on you what happens. They simply have proven to all of us they are NOT trustworthy! In fact, they’ve proven how dangerous and evil they can be!

I have not trusted the government bureaucracy for over forty years. Glad to see you’ve had an epiphany.

seems to be a disconnect about this identity confirmation requirement and the argument that requiring voter ID is somehow “racist” and a barrier to voting

More hypocrisy! So the government wants to have facial recognition to prevent unemployment and pandemic assistance fraud but they are against voter id. The down side is that every good idea starts out with good intentions until evil intent begins to pollute it. Look at how social security began and where it is now!

So many of you cry things like hypocrisy regarding voter fraud. Democrats have no concerns over hypocrisy. They are trying to institute a voter system that has mechanisms of voter fraud built in to it. If you can’t see that you’re blind.

Yes! There in lies the problem *unfortunately high tech with almost instant replay world around is adding many more problems than it is solving. There still seems to be hope in follower ship. Leader ship at all to many levels from top to bottom, continues to fail their responsibilities! I call it to many reaching levels of responsibility, thee levels above their given abilities to function!

Don’t forget the vaccine passport fiasco. So NYC, trying to recover from the years of Mayor DeBlahBlah and Sorosian DAs, has an out of control crime wave, but the NYPD arrests a 9 year old girl because she didn’t have proof of COVID vaccination.

I’ve never needed to look at my returns but I’m sure they’ll come up with something that requires us to view them so they can ensure people have to play their security games. Are we using facial recognition on the Southern border? I didn’t think so. You’ll only need to put up with this BS if you have and R behind your name. FJB LGB

No facial recognition, no ID, no picture required to spend our tax money on sodas, chips, candy, most anything with EBT cards. ( welfare-food stamps) only taxpayers need to show ID.
