A liberal Democrat in Illinois has now resigned after receiving backlash to her posts on social media which attempted to blame the people of Wisconsin for the SUV attack which took the lives of 5 people Sunday night and left scores more critically injured.

An Illinois Democrat who appeared to portray the Christmas parade tragedy in Waukesha, Wisconsin, as a form of payback for Friday’s acquittal of Kyle Rittenhouse in Kenosha has resigned from her post, Fox News has learned.
Mary Lemanski resigned from her position as social media director of the Democratic Party of DuPage County, Illinois, on Monday morning, Anne Sommerkamp, the organization’s executive director, told Fox News in an email.

Sommerkamp confirmed that the Twitter account which appeared to post the series of mocking tweets belonged to the same Mary Lemanski who had just resigned.
The DuPage Democrats Twitter account posted Lemanski’s statement of resignation, which Lemanski also posted on her own account.

Lemanski’s remarks mirrored that of other liberals on Social Media, who were quick to attempt to politicize the attack.
