President Joe Biden unleashed a fresh attack against the conservative majority Supreme Court after the court ruled 5-4 to uphold Texas pro-life ‘heartbeat’ law.
As Fox News reports:
President Biden on Thursday slammed the Supreme Court’s overnight ruling to allow Texas’ “extreme” law that bans most abortions to remain in effect as an “unprecedented assault on a woman’s constitutional rights.”
In a strongly worded statement Thursday, the president reacted to the Supreme Court’s 5-4 ruling to allow Texas’ law to remain in effect.
The law, signed by Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott in May, prohibits abortions once medical professionals can detect cardiac activity, usually around six weeks and before many women know they’re pregnant.
“The Supreme Court’s ruling overnight is an unprecedented assault on a woman’s constitutional rights under Roe v. Wade, which has been the law of the land for almost 50 years,” Biden said in a statement Thursday. “By allowing a law to go into effect that empowers private citizens in Texas to sue health care providers, family members supporting a woman exercising her right to choose after six weeks, or even a friend who drives her to a hospital or clinic, it unleashes unconstitutional chaos and empowers self-anointed enforcers to have devastating impacts.”
Biden went on to say that while the court’s ruling wasn’t final it would require an ‘immediate response.’
It infuriates me that men, sitting in Congress can decide what a woman can do. First of all, Planned Parenthood does more than abortions. It provides medical treatment for women. But, if men are so anxious to prevent a woman from having an abortion, then the woman should refuse to have sex with him so that she doesn’t get pregnant. In addition, if a man gets a woman pregnant he, should BY LAW act as a real father in rearing the child. And, I would like to close with what angers me most. Men should be financially responsible for the child, including school events, and the list goes on and on. That Texas Governor needs to mind his own business. If he’s married, I feel sorry for his wife.

Obviously, there are very small numbers of extreme cases, like rape, when the woman concerned must be the only voice in respect of abortion, but in the vast majority of total cases (about 19 million black, and 21 million or so white babies aborted since 1973), there is a father who should also have a voice, and of course, the defenceless, unborn baby. Abortion is supposed to be an option when things go wrong, and not just a matter of casual choice, like taking a pill or wearing a condom, and I’m pretty sure we’d see many more women behaving responsibly if they suddenly had to pay for abortions themselves, instead of the hapless taxpayer.
