Sen. Pat Toomey (R-PA)
Sen. Toomey, who won re-election by a razor-thin margin in 2016, will not be seeking another term, which makes it a likely pickup for Democrats, who have a Democrat, Sen. Bob Casey, currently serving with Toomey.
Many Democrats have already a full bench of candidates running to take back the seat, with Congressman Conor Lamb thought to be closely eying the race. EMILY’s List, the pro-abortion political group, backed Montgomery County Commissioner Val Arkoosh for the race. Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, the progressive former mayor of Braddock, is raising a lot of money for the race. Army veteran Sean Parnell, who ran and narrowly lost against Lamb last year appears to be the current GOP frontrunner to keep the seat in the GOP column.
