Sen. Rob Portman (R-OH)
Sen. Portman, who is retiring will have his seat up for grabs in 2022. Hillbilly Elegy author J.D. Vance is running for the seat on the Republican side, while “moderate” Democrat Rep. Tim Ryan, who previously ran for president, is running on the Democrat side. The state, which President Trump won in 2020, currently has one Democrat senator, Sherrod Brown, representing it in the chamber. Democrats hope to fill Portman’s seat with a leftist.
