Liberals have hailed the chaos and suffering unleashed by the coronavirus as a chance to rebuild the U.S. economy on a socialist model.
Now some states, and possibly a Democrat-controlled Congress, could ban American companies from reopening unless they adhere to “climate-positive actions.”
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, writing in The New York Times:
“Addressing climate change and Covid-19 simultaneously and at enough scale requires a response stronger than any seen before to safeguard lives and livelihoods,” writes Guterres. “A recovery from the coronavirus crisis must not take us just back to where we were last summer. It is an opportunity to build more sustainable and inclusive economies and societies.”
The UN boss lays out “six climate-positive actions” nations must make their people obey as conditions for re-opening national economies.
Guterres demands:
First: As we spend trillions to recover from Covid-19, we must deliver new jobs and businesses through a clean, green transition. Investments must accelerate the decarbonization of all aspects of our economy.
Second: Where taxpayers’ money rescues businesses, it must be creating green jobs and sustainable and inclusive growth. It must not be bailing out outdated polluting, carbon-intensive industries.
Third: Fiscal firepower must shift economies from gray to green, making societies and people more resilient through a transition that is fair to all and leaves no one behind.
Fourth: Looking forward, public funds should invest in the future, by flowing to sustainable sectors and projects that help the environment and climate. Fossil fuel subsidies must end and polluters must pay for their pollution.
Fifth: The global financial system, when it shapes policy and infrastructure, must take risks and opportunities related to climate into account. Investors cannot continue to ignore the price our planet pays for unsustainable growth.
Sixth: To resolve both emergencies, we must work together as an international community. Like the coronavirus, greenhouse gases respect no boundaries. Isolation is a trap. No country can succeed alone.
U.S. liberals are plowing ahead with Guterres’ demand, mowing down Americans in the process.
Presumptive Democrat presidential nominee Joe Biden is already promising to crack down on capitalism and use the coronavirus to impose ecosocialism, naming socialist New York City Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio Cortez a co-chair of his “climate task force.”
Biden’s campaign released a statement declaring “Biden believes the Green New Deal is a crucial framework for meeting the climate challenges we face. It powerfully captures two basic truths, which are at the core of his plan: (1) the United States urgently needs to embrace greater ambition on an epic scale to meet the scope of this challenge, and (2) our environment and our economy are completely and totally connected.”
Biden terms his plan “environmental justice,” a term commonly applied to plans to use “climate change” as a reason to adopt socialist redistribution tactics.

Firstly, the UN doesn’t tell the US what it MUST force it’s citizens to ‘obey’! Second, the US government doesn’t control the US citizenry; Rather, they work FOR us, and as such, CANNOT ‘force’ us to “obey” anything! Who does that UN scumbag think he is?

Yes yes yes. Well said. Not only that, but what he is mandating is bad policy. CO2 is not an enemy, it is what feeds the plants and helps grow our food supply. If this program was successful in Guterres’ scenario, there would be famines and starving people in parts of the world. Our political leaders on the left indicate an ignorance of plant science and should be given some education, though nowadays truth is not considered PC. Maybe they aren’t interested in truth but would rather push an agenda that cuts down the population?
Not only do they want to push an agenda that substantially reduces our population but they also want to make sure that our economy is under the total control of the government by phasing out fossil fuels. If we thought the lock-down during the corona virus was bad, wait until every aspect of our lives are under the control of the “government solves all problems” elitist Democrats after they take control of the White House and either the House or the Senate or both. The bottom line: the Democrat leaders are control freaks who don’t give a hoot about “we the people,” they hate our capitalist economic system, they don’t care about human rights or personal freedom, and their socialist/communist style of government will make it seem as if we live in Russia or in China. Such are the wonders of a warped sense of “progress.”
We need to get UN out of the US. They do not have ANY authority over US citizens. It’s way past time to take our beloved America back and oust those who are not on board, including the politicians!
