A plan by national Democrats to run on so-called “gun reform” appears to have backfired as the latest Fox News survey shows independent voters back Republicans on the issue by a shocking margin.
Weeks after President Joe Biden signed into law a sweeping “gun safety” bill Democrats predicted would win them broad voter support, the survey finds independent voters believe Republicans would do a better job of handling gun policy by a 21 percent margin, 56 percent to 35 percent.
Even among Americans who described their views as “moderate” Republicans were preferred 49 percent to 45 percent on gun policy.
Independent voters Democrats have lost once-large leads on traditionally liberal issues

Forty-one percent of voters named “inflation and higher prices” as the single most important issue in determining their vote. Among independents Republicans lead on that issue by a 58 percent to 30 percent margin.
Overall, Republicans and Democrats are tied at 41 percent on which party Americans plan to support in the midterm congressional elections. Fox News reports that figure would result in a large gain of Republican seats, as more Democrats seats are drawn to be reliably Democrat.

When will the liberals/Democrats learn the 2A is a losing issue? It is part of the Constitution. Can’t they, the liberals, come up with issues more important to America? We have many issues other than trying to change the Contitution.
It’s interesting that among Independents, the Dems lead on climate change, which basically no one except Dems gives a s**t about.
