Marine Corps Cpl. Hunter Lopez, 22, of Indio, California
Lopez was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 1st Marines, and planned on joining the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department, in the footsteps of both his parents, after he returned from his current deployment.
“Like his parents who serve our community, being a Marine to Hunter wasn’t a job; it was a calling,” the Riverside Sheriff’s Association said in a statement.
