Marine Corps Sgt. Nicole L. Gee, 23, of Sacramento, California

Maintenance technician with 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit was promoted to sergeant in early August and recently posted “I love my job,” as she was documenting her time escorting evacuees onto military aircraft in Kabul. 

“She absolutely loved the work she was doing in Afghanistan and was excited to tell me more about it once she was back home,” her sister said. She is survived by her Marine husband Jarod Gee.
