Marine Corps Sgt. Johanny Rosario Pichardo, 25, of Lawrence, Massachusetts
The former supply chief was one of two female Marine sergeants killed during the bombing. She died on a volunteer assignment to screen women and children trying to flee the country.
Marine First Lieutenant John “Jack” Coppolasaid said her “service was not only crucial to evacuating thousands of women and children but epitomizes what it means to be a Marine: putting herself in danger for the protection of American values so that others might enjoy them. She is a hero, and her legacy will never be forgotten.”
