The 13 U.S. Service Members Killed In Kabul, Learn Their Names

Marine Corps Lance Cpl. David L. Espinoza, 20, of Rio Bravo, Texas

Texas-born Espinoza was stationed in Jordan for two years before being transferred to Kabul about a week ago. His mother received the call about his death at 2:30 a.m.

“I’m proud of him because of what he did. As a mother, it’s hard, but he did serve. He did do what he wanted, but it’s hard,” his mother, Elizabeth Holguin, said.
