Secretary of Defense Mark Esper appeared to publicly distance himself from President Trump’s earlier remarks concerning the use of the U.S. military to suppress rioting that has gripped much of the nation following the death of George Floyd.
Appearing in front of reporters, the Pentagon chief said he is not in favor of invoking the Insurrection Act of 1807, an action Trump says he is considering.

Fox News’ Ronn Blitzer reports:
“The option to use active-duty forces in a law enforcement role should only be used as a matter of last resort and only in the most urgent and dire situations,” Esper said. “We are not in one of those situations now. I do not support invoking the Insurrection Act.”
But Trump has suggested going a step further.
“If a city or a state refuses to take the actions that are necessary to defend the life and property of their residents, then I will deploy the United States military and quickly solve the problem for them,” he said Monday. Esper already has ordered military police active-duty troops from Fort Bragg and Fort Drum and a ready battalion from the 82nd Airborne to stage in the Washington, D.C. area at Maryland’s Andrews Air Force Base and Virginia’s Fort Belvoir.

Esper has also come under fire for his use of the term “battle space” when describing how governors should control protests. He stopped short of saying he regretted using that military terminology and claimed it was simply part of the military’s lexicon but that he was not referring to the protesters. “In retrospect, I would use a different word,” he said.

Too bad Mark Esper turns out to be another deep stater when the revolution of Marxists is indeed Insurrection to the Constitution One Rule of Law b/c George is not the issue, demolishing America as it is, is. – Mattis did the same thing by siding with the European leaders before he was fired.
It’s just over blown crap from the left, I bet President Trump doesn’t really want to use that option either. Besides the General said he didn’t like that option, not that he won’t! It’s also reported they are marshaling a battalion in DC, so it’s not off the table. IMO I believe that the cops should deploy water cannons to force them into one area and arrest them! Why aren’t they going after who is funding these terrorist both antifuk and BLM? There has to be caught on camera who is putting out the weapons on the streets, bricks, bats, and acid or other caustic liquid?
It’s time for Trump to replace his defense secretary….if you are not on Trumps side , you should be gone…Trump needs people who think as he does …and are willing to do what is necessary to protect our law and order…
Time for a new SoD.
Allowing the Democrats to continue harming innocent through Blue State inaction is unacceptable.
You are either with us or against us. President Trump has disposed of others that disagreed with his policies, so there is not any reason to continue. The military is also under the control of the president, and they can be fired also, i.e. Truman v. McArthur. If you cannot get on board, quit or resign.
It sounds as though President Trump needs a replacement for his SECDEF. Like yesterday!
