A new poll is showing bad news for anti-Trump Senator Lisa Murkowski in her home state of Alaska.

The poll, conducted by Change Research, shows Murkowski trailing Republican rival Kelly Tshibaka, a bad sign for the incumbent especially in light of her state’s new voting rules.

As Jim Ellis noted in his newsletter:

The poll (5/22-25; released 6/9; 1,023 AK likely voters; online) tested Ms. Murkowski against announced Republican opponent Kelly Tshibaka, the former Alaska Commissioner of Administration, Dr. Al Gross, the 2020 Senate Democratic nominee who lost 54-41% to Republican incumbent Dan Sullivan, and John Wayne Howe of the Alaska Independence Party.
In 2020, Alaska voters adopted a new ballot procedure initiative that changes the state’s nomination system into a unique “top four” jungle primary.  This means the four candidates attracting the most votes in the initial election all advance into the general election.
The other serious Change Research finding related to Sen. Murkowski’s standing among the likely Republican voter segment.  Here, the Senator rates a terrible 6:84% favorable to unfavorable.  Her standing among the sampled Republicans largely accounts for her statewide 26:59% upside-down favorability index.  Ironically, among Democrats, her ratio is 48:32% positive to negative.
The new voting system and Sen. Murkowski’s poor standing within the Alaska electorate suggests the 2022 campaign in the Last Frontier will be a race that will draw a great deal of national attention.

      1. Shut the hell up.. now you judge people by their religious affiliations..keep it to yourself

  1. The article doesn’t even show what the headline claims–favorability stats are not the same thing as poll results showing her trailing badly. the new system actually favors Murkowski. Do your homework

    1. You are absolutely correct. When the Dims recognize that a Republican will more than likely prevail many of them will crossover and vote for the most liberal of the Republican candidates.

  2. She needs to GO ASAP!
People of Alaska, if you care about the future of our country, you will vote in a Republican who actually cares about the US and the citizens.

    1. So I tried doing an edit to my original comment and now both are “Awaiting for approval”!? This censorship has got to stop!!

  3. Good, she should loose. Hope that senate minority leader gets smart and quit backing the RINO’s even though hes a RINO.

  4. A 4 victor jungle primary guarantees Democrats will cross over to support Murkowski in the General Election. Then she will win.

  5. I keep thinking when I read articles like this how much is riding on Manchin
of West Virginia. If we aggrevate these Rino’s too much they will break with
their loyal Republicans and Joe Manchin will be irrelevant. Let the the Parties
in each State take the corrective actions necessary. We must not get too involved.
As bad as they seem to be, somehow they are being held together to protect
the fillibuster, prevent DC Statehood, resist runnaway “infrastucture” legislation
and prevent the stacking of the US Supreme Court. Biden has done immesurable
damage with just his executive orders, if he gains complete control of the Senate,
we will not recognize this country by the time the mid-terms roll around and we
won’t have any chance at correcting the damage that has been done.

    1. Manchin is regarded as the democratic equivalent of a RINO and already has a bulls eye on his back. I just got done dithering with a lefty loon on another site who was boasting that they would get rid of Manchin and that the GOP was done. He (unsurprisingly) did not want to listen when I pointed out that another AOC type couldn’t get elected dog catcher in West Virginia and success in firing Manchin would simply put another senate seat in republican hands.

  6. She can be counted on to vote with the Democrats the vast majority of the time, she needs replaced.

  7. RINO’s are worse than liberal Democrats. They run as Republican and vote like a liberal Democrat in many cases. They should not be elected to any office because of the deceit.

  8. Glad to see Alaska changed its vote rules. The last time she won by running as a independent after losing the Republican nomination. This should never have been allowed !!!

  9. That seems like a stupid system to me. It’s going to open the door for a lot of Democrats to get elected. One thing that the Democratic Party usually does is they stick together like glue. Unless there is a right off for the final two people, the Democrat could get 30% of the vote and the elected.

  10. She was previously primaried, then ran as a “write in” candidate and won anyway.
Vote fraud is hardly a new thing.
