Col. Douglas Macgregor, President Trump’s nominee for the critical ambassadorship in Germany faces slim hopes of surviving the long road to confirmation.
That’s according to prominent Republican staffers on Capitol Hill who pointed to Macgregor’s past comments deemed anti-Semitic.
The Washington Free Beacon’s Adam Kredo reports:
President Trump tapped the retired Army colonel to fill the vacant ambassador position in July. Macgregor has since come under fire for his suggestion in 2012 during an interview with the Daily Bell that “neocons” are “making decisions in Washington that in their minds are beneficial to a foreign power and are not necessarily good for the American people or the United States.”
Senior congressional officials and Trump administration insiders said that several Republicans would vote against the Macgregor nomination, a fact that would likely scuttle his chances. “Although Colonel Macgregor was only nominated a few weeks ago, even a cursory view of his comments makes it clear this nomination will not move forward,” a senior staffer to a member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee said.

At issue is Macgregor’s claim that a group of powerful Jews are pushing the United States to support Israel unconditionally and in a manner that is detrimental to the United States. “They operate in a variety of settings in the government and in the media, and they support or advocate, for all intents and purposes, unconditional support for whatever the Israeli government wants to do. They are no means the majority and they are by no means representative of what I would call Americans who happen to be Jewish,” Macgregor told the Daily Bell website in 2012.
American Jewish groups are also raising questions about Macgregor’s 2018 statement suggesting that Germany’s atonement for the Holocaust is overkill.
Macgregor is a familiar face to millions, who may recognize him from his appearances on “Tucker Carlson Tonight.”

The colonel is correct in a limited degree. There is a powerful group of Jews pushing a pro-Israel agenda no matter the cost. I don’t agree with them nor do I believe they’re being successful. But it’s also true that there’s a powerful group of Jews calling for the de facto dissolution of Israel in favor of a State of Palestine. One of its proponents is George Soros. And he’s backed up by many progressive Democrats in government and the media.

That is why President Trump has my support. (and THAT is why members of BOTH “parties” are trying to get rid of him). He is standing up for America and American citizens. He is trying his best to turn the power and control back to “we the people” as it should be, and the status-quo politicians of both parties, want to keep things they way they are and continue to USE the taxpayers of this country as their “cash cow” to keep them in their lush, cushy, lifestyle.

They and other Jews committed the most heinous treason against America (Julius and Ethel Rosenberg gave atomic secrets to Russia) in our history, putting every single American at deadly risk. Continuing, Jonathan Pollard damaged America as much as the Rosenbergs, and Jews abetted the murder of 30+ sailors aboard the USS Liberty in 1967 by influencing LBJ not to rescue the murdered sailors. Of course, the vast majority of Jews are loyal and admirable, but the bad ones like Bernie Madoff and Michael Milkin are never exposed and are even defended by their “tribe” with cries of antisemitism.
