Several counties in eastern Oregon may soon vote on whether to secede from the state and join Idaho, citing the radical agenda of liberal Democrat Governor Kate Brown.
“Move Oregon’s Border for a Greater Idaho, a group that seeks to take eastern and rural counties out of Oregon and put them into Idaho, reached a milestone Saturday,” The Washington Times reports. “It announced that volunteers have collected enough signatures to place the initiative on the November ballot in Wallowa County, Oregon.”
“Greater Idaho” seeks to have several counties in southern and eastern Oregon, and in northern California, secede and join Idaho. The group argues that rural residents are being ignored by Oregon and California’s radical, liberal urban majorities.
The move comes amid growing anger over the radical and aggressive agenda of leftist Democrat governor Kate Brown, who has supported violent terrorist protests in Portland and approved taxpayer-funded abortions for illegal aliens.
“We want to move the border because the political atmosphere in Oregon is getting too intense,” Michael McCarter, president of Greater Idaho, said in a statement. “We’ve seen political violence in Portland and Eugene this year and it could get worse. Instead of fighting, Oregon could let citizens in each region of the state choose which state’s governance is more suitable to them.”

McCarter has also filed a suit in federal court challenging the state’s ballot access laws. He wants to allow 17 Oregon counties to vote on whether to secede and join conservative Idaho but argues the state’s COVID-19 lockdowns make it impossible to gather enough signatures on petitions to get the measure on the ballot in other counties.
A federal court struck down the signature requirement in a case brought by another group.
If successful, each of the 17 counties could vote on secession, but it would ultimately have to be approved by each state’s legislature and by Congress.

The State Of Jefferson is and always has been a great idea. We here in Commiefornia recently attempted to split our state as well. Let the loony coastal counties have their ridiculous false utopia and let the rest of us true Red patriots split away from them. Of course, the Democratic state legislature and the liberal Secretary of State put a stop to it. We had more than double the signatures needed to put the split on the ballot and it would have resoundingly won during the election and that’s what the Sacramento loons were afraid of. The psychosis of the left is real and in the end will be their downfall.

I think that any counties in Oregon that still have people with common sense should secede from Oregon, or the residents should move out and leave that crazy state. All I ask is don’t bring any looney liberal politics with you. Leave that mess in Oregon.
As a former Commiefornian who took his conservative vote and fled to North Idaho 20 years ago I know how you feel east Oregon. But the fact is, the only chance you have is either to vote with your feet or pray for an 8.0 quake the length of I-5 and every off ramp headed west.

IF I am not mistaken if the counties decide to secede and the state of Idaho offers them a seat there then the State of Oregon might have NO authority to stop them. At leas this will be a New federal type of action.The higher the percentage that voted for secession the more likely that the feds have to listen.
The reason? the very words of the Founding Fathers. That when the government places its foot on the neck of the people, when the government fails to act within the best interests of the people then the PEOPLE have the right to throw the yoke of government from their neck, ergo 2A was passed and well worded. Most people in those counties are WELL ARMED and fully self sufficient. I would wager that NO US military (state militia) unit will take ANY ACTION against counties that have voted to secede.
Now this being a fee country, no one is stopped from moving any place, but the charter under which the state was accepted into the union actually prevents citizens from doing this in any way. Now with Liberalism is spreading like a wild fire since propaganda has been prevented from being taught in school as is Religion except in religious schools, and students are getting the factual information which should have been being taught all along. Now the youth know the good in Democratic Socialism which puts everyone on an equal basis, and limits discrimination to almost non existent form.

Today’s Antifa/BLM riots are a little similar to the socialist Green Corn Rebellion of 1917, except the Army was sent in to squash the 1917 uprising. Many US cities would be much better off today if the Army had been used early to restore law and order.
I would very much like to secede from Dallas, Austin, Houston, San Antonio and El Paso. These pockets of insanity in Texas will eventually destroy the state I have plans, when it happens to escape to a mountain top in southern Missouri.
