Newport Beach, California, is one of the redder cities in Orange County. Although the suburban county has trended blue in recent years, the wealthy seaside community remains a conservative bastion in an increasingly liberal state.
With that tradition in mind, the Newport Beach City Council voted to keep their beaches open, in defiance of Democratic Governor Gavin Newsom’s orders.
Fox News’ Brie Stimson reports:
The council voted 5-2 against the measure and instead advised city officials to enforce social distancing at the beach, FOX 11 in Los Angeles reported.
An estimated 40,000 beachgoers packed Newport Beach both Friday and Saturday as Southern California temperatures soared into the nineties.
“You didn’t see those images at L.A. beaches and San Diego beaches and [in] Northern California,” Newsom said Monday of the Newport Beach crowds, “because we had strong guidelines that were not only adopted but were abided by,” The Los Angeles Times reported.
He called it an example of what “not to do” and promised to increase enforcement of the statewide stay-at-home order if people aren’t social distancing.
Newsom also warned that Newport Beach’s noncompliance would slow California’s planned economic reopening.

Well of course Newport Beach was crowded since it was the only beach open for hundreds of miles. Open them all up and the crowding will be cut way down.
And, what will he do? The city council will no doubt have problems getting re-elected, because Orange Co. had their election stolen by fraudulent votes in 2018. When will “COMMON SENSE” start being used? I get outside in the sun, as it only takes 1.5 minutes to kill this virus. When I go shopping, I pick out a cart that was sitting in the parking lot when I drove in. WHY? Because the sun has “Sterilized” it. When I get home, my non perishable items sit on my patio table for at least five minutes. Riding in the subway, and living in apartment buildings keep people from ever being in “Direct Sunlight”. I’ll bet that farmers and other rural people have far fewer cases of the virus. That’s why the “Hot Spots” are all “Big Cities”?

It is about time Californians took a stand and defied the Democratic regime. I hope it spreads to many California cities, as long as they social distance, until a cure is found. Democrat leadership, under Premier Newsom, has ruled California and turned it into a cesspool. They ensured their continued domination by fixing their voting (i.e, through vote harvesting, illegal alien voting, no ID voting rules, etc.) so they stay in control. Take a good look at California, I was there just a few years ago and stayed in a Stockton hotel situated in a heavy illegal alien area. The door in my hotel room had been smashed in and repaired several times (very obvious) and the hotel attendants were situated behind bullet proof glass. I stayed there one night. The next hotel I stayed at in Manteca CA was walled with security gates, as were several others I passed. Is this what you want to happen to all of America. An America where you have to lock your door every night and turn on a security system to be safe (hopefully). Where is is human excrement in your streets and drug paraphernalia littering your sidewalks. Your party leadership is on the wrong track (i.e., socialism, abortion to actual birth, open borders, etc.) and you empower them with your votes. Put a stop to it, walk away. That is the only way your leadership is going to get the message, if you take away their power by taking away you vote. Walk away, I did several years ago and you can do it now – all it takes is a single step in the right direction.

What kind of leader is our (or any) elected Governor who does not follow the laws of the U.S. Constitution? No body is above the law.
