Dr. Anthony Fauci, who will rarely turn down the opportunity to appear on television, made yet another appearance on CBS’s Face The Nation.

During the interview, Fauci states that he has a “completely open mind” about how COVID-19 may have started, however, just seconds later Fauci stated that he believes that scientific evidence “strongly” suggests that the virus was not leaked from a lab.

It’s been over two years since COVID-19 hit the United States, and since early 2020, trust in the CDC and NIH

“We keep a completely open mind as to what the origin is,”

Fauci said.

“Having said that, if you look at the examination by highly qualified international scientists with no political agendas — they’ve published in peer-reviewed journals — that all accumulated evidence, particularly relating to the Chinese bringing into the Wuhan market animals from the wild that should not have been there … the evidence is quite strong that this is a natural occurrence.”

“Does that mean we’ve ruled out that there was something funny going on and it leaked? Absolutely [not],”

he added.

“I and all of my colleagues keep an absolutely open mind. We’ve got to investigate every possibility because this is too important not to do that. That’s not incompatible with saying the scientific evidence still weighs much more strongly that this is a natural occurrence.”

While Fauci called out China for their lack of transparency, he also appeared to pick his words carefully, and did not call out China for their alleged cover-up of the origins of COVID-19.

Their is a widespread belief that Fauci knows more than what he is saying, and that belief is also held by (R-Ky.) Sen. Rand Paul. Sen. Rand Paul is one of Fauci’s largest critics, and in his victory speech following his re-election win on Nov. 8th, he said:

“I will not only hold Dr. Fauci accountable, we will finally investigate why your tax dollars were sent to fund dangerous research in Wuhan,”

Sen. Rand Paul added,

“I promise you this: the COVID cover-up will end.”

It’s unclear whether Paul will get his opportunity to press Fauci on the origins of the COVID-19 virus along with Fauci’s emails released through the Freedom Of Information Act since the Republicans, at best, have a 50-50 seating in the U.S. Senate if (R) Herschel Walker is able to win his Dec. 6 run-off election against (D) Raphael Warnock in Georgia. Without a Senate majority for Republicans, it’s unlikely that Paul and the Republicans will get their way and be able to force Fauci to testify.
