The Twitter account, Libs of TikTok, is owned by Chaya Raichik, a former real estate agent. Its content primarily consists of videos originally posted on TikTok by LGBT activists, liberals, and leftists. These videos are often shared without added commentary or opinion. The purpose of these reposts appears to be to highlight what the account sees as absurd or humorous content that may be viewed as out-of-touch by individuals outside of left-leaning communities, including political moderates.
On Thursday, Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., was accused of lying by Raichik. Raichik had filed an ethics complaint at the congresswoman’s office, claiming that Ocasio-Cortez had defamed her during a Feb. 8 House Oversight and Accountability Committee hearing.
Raichik apparently did not reveal her identity immediately when she spotted Ocasio-Cortez walking through the Capitol. After cozying up for an apparent picture, Raichik identified herself and confronted the Democrat. “I just delivered an ethics complaint to your office because you lied about me in a committee hearing,” Raichik said.
BREAKING: I served @AOC with an ethics complaint after she lied about me in a committee hearing. AOC wasn’t in her office but then I bumped into her as I was leaving the Capitol! Watch what happens:
Raichik Accuses AOC Of Lying
Raichik claimed that Ocasio-Cortez lied about her in a tweet when she said that Boston Children’s Hospital was “now offering ‘gender-affirming hysterectomies’ for young girls.” However, Ocasio-Cortez defended herself by asking a former Twitter executive about the tweet during a committee hearing.
Raichik had shared videos from the children’s hospital where doctors said they offered “gender-affirming hysterectomies.” The Heritage Foundation has asked the Office of Congressional Ethics to investigate Ocasio-Cortez on Raichik’s behalf for “falsely accusing” and “defaming” the creator of the Libs of TikTok Twitter account. The nine-page complaint defends Raichik’s view that Boston Children’s Hospital performs gender-affirming hysterectomies on young girls.
AOC Calls Raichik “Super Transphobic”
Ocasio-Cortez immediately backed away, calling Raichik “super transphobic.” She said, “I actually didn’t [lie about you], because you’re actually super transphobic, and I never want to share a space with you. Thank you!” before walking away.
