Since announcing he will be running for President, Trump is yet again back in the headlines. CNN, MSNBC, and every other left-wing news cooperation know that by hitching their wagon onto Trump, the money will be sure to follow.
This led to extreme exaggerations about some protests that occurred on Jan. 6th, 2021, amid a strange election year and certifying the election. By pretending as if a group of unarmed protestors was attempting to harm elected officials and overthrow the government, they knew they could change the narrative around election fraud, and instead pretend as if this is dangerous rhetoric to question the integrity of elected officials.
Since 2020, there are two things you used to be encouraged to question, but now suddenly aren’t allowed to – your government’s leadership, and science. These are some of the only two topics that actually improve and become more trustworthy the more they are questioned.
Since January 6th, some of Trump’s allies, including his former Vice President, have turned on him – and some of them could be running against him in 2024.
Following the controversy and media snow job of January 6th, how are former President Donald Trump’s chances looking in 2024? Overall, while it is not ideal to have the media painting Trump as a militia leader who attempted to overthrow the government, it appears that many Americans really just can’t be bothered to care about a now two-year-old event that amounted to nothing.
As Trump said, he ‘could shoot someone on Fifth Ave.’ and no one would care, the American citizen’s minds are already made up about him.
January 6th is a date we’ll never forget – not due to its significance, but due to how often that date is repeated. Marking the one-year anniversary of January 6th, 2021, Vice President Kamala Harris said “…Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendar but a place in our collective memory. Dec. 7, 1941, Sept. 11, 2001, and Jan. 6, 2021.” One of these dates simply is not like the other. One helped to launch the United States into World War 2, the other claimed thousands of innocent lives, and then there’s January 6th, which is a day of news coverage, and then constant reminders of the date from people who supported rioters just a few months prior.
CBS conducted a poll, which parts were later covered up by the network due to not receiving the desired outcome. In this poll, people were asked many questions. Many questions on the poll were divided, the main divisive talking points include: believing that it was an attempt to overthrow democracy, as well as, believing it was an “insurrection”. The over 2,046 people polled did find some common ground:
For starters, “a protest that went too far” was the overwhelming favorite of the 2,046 Americans who were polled with 76% agreeing with that characterization of Jan. 6. The second most popular result was “trying to overturn the election and keep Donald Trump in power” with 63%. Both of those options were omitted in the graphic bolstered by CBS. Meanwhile, “an insurrection,” which came at a distant third with 55% of Americans was kept in the graphic among the others which polled even less popular.
As first reported by Fox News, CBS downplayed the findings of its own poll asking Americans how they would characterize the events in the Capitol on January 6, 2021. The survey asked 2,046 adults, “What happened at the Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021?” Eighty percent of Republicans and 69% of Democrats described it as “a protest that went too far.” Even 70% of Biden voters characterized it that way.
But this was not the information CBS chose to highlight. Instead, after quickly noting, “People widely call it a protest that went too far,” its reporting turned its focus on more granular responses to the poll, conducted with YouGov.
Americans don’t seem to care about January 6th as much as the White House does. While Democrat politicians are calling anyone who was in attendance on January 6th a domestic terrorist, most Americans view them as being at a protest that got out of hand. Attendees of the George Floyd riots throughout 2020 were often given the benefit of the doubt, with CNN even having the headline “Firey but mostly peaceful” while the entire background is engulfed in flames.
Funny how now news organizations neglected to mention all the other mobs that were not Trump supporters but were the ones who really did all the violence! There were BLM, Proud Boys, and a host of others. Those in the White House should have locked the doors and had a host of security to secure the White House. What started as a peaceful protest was taken over by those Hell Bent on rioting and destruction!
If I remember correctly, Trump’s comment on shooting on 5th Ave, was that there are so few republicans in New York, that he wouldn’t lose voters. He did not say that nobody would care. He was making a point after being told that New Yorkers wouldn’t vote for him.
Trump’s chances are ZERO
If the truth matters, what trump said was that he could shoot someone on 5th Ave, and not lose a voter. He said that due to someone asking about the lack of republican voters in New York. He was insinuating that almost everyone in New York City was a democrat. Twisting the words to make it sound different than it was is a common political tactic when the truth doesn’t matter.
My previous comment will probably never see this post, as it goes to show how the left and truth live in different worlds.
Remember how Biden wanted to take President Trump behind the bleachers?
Also remember how President Trump said, he ‘could shoot someone on Fifth Ave.’ and no one would care, the American citizen’s minds are already made up about him.
We do not know about Biden being behind the bleachers (perhaps memory lapse about Corn Pop and him), but we do know Biden never made it to Fifth avenue.
