Such incidents should be object lessons for people who think running from cops is a viable option. The officers were responding to a call about someone with a gun. They weren’t trying to get a cat out of a tree. These Parking Lot Perry Masons project their perspectives in hindsight. In the heat of battle, when a possible threat of being shot by criminals looms within such scenarios, they probably would pee their pants and beg for mercy when some perp turns around on them. I’ve been arrested by the police, and stopped many times for driving infractions other activities. I learned quickly that you should not confront or attempt to flee from these officers.

We had something similar occur at SFO. A lesbian firefighter driving a fire truck accidentally ran over an injured female airline passenger who was lying near the wreckage of her flight. The poor girl was killed due to that truck rolling over her. Well, I think they’re going to have a hard time getting a 2nd Degree Manslaughter conviction.
2nd Degree means that she had to knowingly know that her actions could lead to death. So did she grab her firearm rather than her taser with the knowledge that she grabbed the right tool? From the audio, it’s sounds like she thought she’d grabbed her taser. Her response after firing was distraught as she realized her mistake. So I believe they’re going to have a hard time proving she knowingly grabbed her pistol. Criminally Negligent Homicide would be a more appropriate charge. That in the adrenalin of the moment, training went out the window, and because of that lapse a death occurred.
Who knows, since our Judicial system is so politicized and topsy turvy, what will happen?
In watching the video, there’s a lot to pick apart. Why wasn’t the subject moved to the back of the car before they attempted to cuff him? Why wasn’t the driver’s door shut before they attempted to cuff him? There’s several things that went on the are counterintuitive to accepted and reasonable procedures.

Now, after an honest mistake ( obvious from the body cam recording) the DA decides to prosecute an honest mistake ONLY because a mob gone crazy. WOW! According to the comments – anyone who resists arrest deserves to die…seriously read the comments. So now the police shut off their body cams, which many do and they kill you and say you resisted arrest. The officer gets cited for not having his bodycam on , internal affairs says there is no evidence to contradict the officers word – and case closed.
I would prefer the charges and due process happen way more often. Instead of the “police get to kill you if you resist”
