In a post to former President Donald Trump’s social media platform Truth Social, Trump made a post that congratulated Kevin McCarthy on his historic deal to secure the Speaker of the House position in Congress. However, in the same post, Trump called out Senate Minority Leader (R-Ky) Mitch McConnell, saying:
Great job Kevin! We must now stop Mitch McConnell and his China flagrant boss, Coco Chow. It’s as though he just doesn’t care anymore, he pushes through anything the Democrats want. The $1.7 TRILLION quickly approved Bill of the week before was HORRIBLE. Zero for USA Border Security. If he waited just ten days, the now “United Republican Congress” could have made it MUCH BETTER, or KILLED IT. Something is wrong with McConnell, and those Republican Senators that Vote with him. PRIMARY THEM ALL!!!
It appears that like members of the Free Caucus, Trump is still calling for not only a Republican take over, but also an overhaul of the Republican party and the old leaders of it who have become extremely moderate RINOs. McConnell may be the most notable RINO in the GOP, however, Trump doesn’t want to only stop at the Senate Minority leader, calling for “Republican Senators that Vote with him. PRIMARY THEM ALL!!!”
A large faction of the Republican party, most notibly the members of the freedom caucus, still side with Trump when it comes to his stances post-Presidency, and it’s possible that following McCarthy’s historic deal where a moderate was forced to bend due to pressure from an America First faction of the party, then its possible that an America First faction could force McConnell out of Senate due to the changing landscape of the GOP.
Tensions have been growing between Trump and McConnell since Jan. 6th, 2021, when McConnell, possibly doing his best Liz Cheney impression, said:
“We all were here. We saw what happened. It was a violent insurrection for the purpose of trying to prevent the peaceful transfer of power after a legitimately certified election, from one administration to the next. That’s what it was.”
Now two years removed from Jan. 6th, no one in the Jan. 6th committee has been able to tie Trump to these alleged plans to ‘overthrow’ democracy. However, McConnell, similar to Democrats, and Republicans that essentially should be Democrats like Liz Cheney and Mitt Romney, all make the exact same unfounded points when talking about Jan. 6th. When taking McConnell’s voting record into consideration and his statements about Jan. 6th, it’s clear why Trump and other Republicans may look to oust McConnell from his position.
I’ve been saying the Turtle is no good for years……Wake up people. As long as there are RINOs in the party there will never be success.
McConnell needs to be replaced ASAP. The Senate Republicans need to hang together and vote is old rino ASSHOLE out. He is solely responsible for undermining the RED WAVE last November. We should have won 40 to 60 more House seats and at least 5 Senate seats. McConnell is a traitor and should be called out for his behavior!!!!
