The Biden Administration is now trying to unleash the Department of Justice on conservative states who attempt to put legal restrictions on abortions in their state, something that is now legal thanks to the Supreme Court’s recent ruling striking down Roe vs. Wade.
As The Daily Wire reports:
The Department of Justice announced the launch of a new task force on Tuesday that will promote abortion across the country and could challenge certain state laws on abortion.
The task force, called the “Reproductive Rights Task Force,” will use resources and manpower from the DOJ to “protect access to reproductive health” since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in June.
“As Attorney General Garland has said, the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision is a devastating blow to reproductive freedom in the United States,” Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta said. “The Court abandoned 50 years of precedent and took away the constitutional right to abortion, preventing women all over the country from being able to make critical decisions about our bodies, our health, and our futures.”…
Part of the task force will be to look at whether various state and local laws are in conflict with federal law. One of the issues the DOJ said it would challenge would be if a state penalizes a woman who leaves a state where abortion is illegal to go get an abortion in a state where it is legal.
There are no “abortion rights” at the Federal level. The Supreme Court has ruled in a manner that leaves such matters to the states, according to the Constitution. Biden doesn’t respect the division of authority between states and the Federal government that is proscribed by the Constitution. Interstate activities are already protected by the Constitution and no special task force meddling in state matters is needed.

As the majority of Americans looked unfavorably upon the recent Supreme Court decision by conservative, out-of-touch justices and had wanted the half-century-followed Roe vs Wade law to stay in place, Biden is doing what he can to accommodate the wishes of that majority. America is supposed to run by majority rule, so if there is any means to address the wishes of the majority to give the abortion option legally to conservative State citizens, Biden will do it.
