A new poll is now showing that Americans are growing increasingly concerns about the Russian invasion of Ukraine and what it means for U.S. security.
As The Hill reports:
More than half of Americans view a Russia-Ukraine conflict as a critical threat to U.S. interests, according to a Gallup poll released Friday that was conducted before Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
As tensions with Russia rose during Gallup’s Feb. 1-17 World Affairs poll, 52 percent of Americans surveyed said that the conflict was a critical threat.

Respondents who identified as Democrats (61 percent) were slightly more likely than Republicans (56 percent) to see the conflict as a critical threat.
However, Republicans (72 percent) are more likely than Democrats (64 percent) to see Russian military efforts as a critical threat more generally. Independents were slightly less likely to view Russia as a threat, at 48 percent.
The results signal a significant change from 2015, when a significantly lower percentage of Americans viewed Russia’s military actions as a concern.

Biden has repeatedly said on TV to prospective south-of-the-border immigrants, “Stay where you are in your own country and apply for immigration.” The way you are talking, you would think no one was watching our borders or that people were freer to cross than they have been under the previous 4 or 5 Presidents. They aren’t. The Covid pandemic has just made the people who are south of the border more desperate in trying to get to America, and the greater numbers of those trying to get across shows this.
How did the 2 million that Border patrol captured wind up transported to bus terminals, and airports around the country in the middle of the night??? The 2Million represent about 20% of those crossing.

I agree Biden’s a joke, but that doesn’t make this conflict magically affect the United States like it’s being portrayed..
It does affect the US. It’s affect is immediate in that it fuels economic anxiety which shows up in all markets. It affects us in the medium term as it damages our credibility abroad ,aking it exceedingly more difficult to negotiate, persuade and affect other foriegn policy critical to our security.
It affects us long term in that it significantly streghthens one long time adversary, and emboldens others.
