Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell once again courted controversy among fellow Republicans on Wednesday when he downplayed the possibility of impeaching President Joe Biden, claiming that Biden ‘is not going to be removed from office.’
As The Hill reports:
Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (Ky.) on Wednesday shot down calls from within his own party to try to impeach President Biden, pointing to next year’s midterm election as a potential check on the administration.
“Well, look, the president is not going to be removed from office. There’s a Democratic House, a narrowly Democratic Senate. That’s not going to happen,” McConnell said at an event in Kentucky, asked if Biden’s handling of the drawdown in Afghanistan merits impeachment and if he would support it.
“There isn’t going to be an impeachment,” he added.
McConnell’s comments come as some Republicans in the House and Senate call for Biden’s impeachment or for him to resign or be involuntarily removed from office over the botched Afghanistan exit.
Many Republicans including most of President Trump’s longtime allies, have already called on Biden to resign over his handling of the withdrawal from Afghanistan.

If the audits show that the election was stolen the people should demand that biden be removed from office and everything he has done be reversed and void. You are correct. There should be a show of strength from Republicans to impeach Biden whether it will go through or not. Democrats didn’t care that the Republican held Senate would never impeach Trump, they did it anyway. And even though he was not impeached they said that he was because the house voted for it. No matter what – Republicans should go forth and demand impeachment.

The house voted for impeachment of Trump even though they knew the Republicans held the Senate would never vote for it and it would never go through. There is no excuse for Republicans not standing up and demanding impeachment.

Mitch can count!!!! By the CONSTITUTION impeachment MUST begin in the House of Representatives. Democrats have the majority there, NOW [it may change after 2022] so it’s unlikely that enough Democrats will vote to impeach [no matter how deserved] Biden to start the impeachment!! Even IF he does recieve some Articles of Impeachment from the House the divide in the Senate is 50-50 and even IF enough Democrats leave the ‘reservation’ [they have proven they will likely ‘stick together] Harris will likely vote to acquit him of the articles of impeachment. The odds are TOO LONG that he would be impeached and a ‘President’ Harris would be worse than a ‘President’ Biden anyway!
Whether an impeachment is deemed possible or not, Mitch should put every effort into making it possible and at the very least support the proposition.
