Tech giant Amazon has now successfully crushed an upstart effort to unionize one of its warehouses in Bessemer, Alabama.

An overwhelming majority of workers at the warehouse voted ‘no’ on a measure to unionize their workplace.

As The Hill reports:

Workers at Amazon’s Bessemer, Ala., warehouse have voted not to unionize, a major victory for the e-commerce giant but not the end of the fight for labor organizers.

Out of the 3,215 employees who participated, 1,798 “no” votes and 738 “yes” votes were recorded before voided and challenged ballots were counted. Fifty-percent plus one of the employees would have had to vote “yes” for the union to gain National Labor Relations Board recognition.

Although the initial vote has gone against them, the union plans to challenge the results.

“We won’t let Amazon’s lies, deception and illegal activities go unchallenged, which is why we are formally filing charges against all of the egregious and blatantly illegal actions taken by Amazon during the union vote,” RWDSU president Stuart Applebaum said. “Amazon knew full well that unless they did everything they possibly could, even illegal activity, their workers would have continued supporting the union.”

  1. Automate more
Hear out worker issues, peeing in bottles since the have NO restroom breaks, thats 1900s vintage labor then source for labor unions
    Remedy Amazon

  2. the unions are getting desperate because the People are FINALLY NOTICING THE CONTROLLING NATURE of unions and their DIMINISHING VALUE as People to those unions.

All they are is a SOURCE OF FUNDING FOR THE UNIONS POLITICAL GOALS!

  3. When I negotiated for UPS on Union claims, the Union rep and I would sit in a Bass boat on Saturday and decide the cases, then, on Monday night we would meet at the hall and yell and shout at each other before we announced our Bass fishing decisions. Unions do not like problem employees.

  4. Why would you want to pay dues to a union in an AT WILL state? Unions only work for government employees and teacher who have essentially no competition! If the service you are providing to an employer is simple, repetitious, or unskilled the likelihood of you being replaced by a machine is high!

  5. If employees are treated with respect on wages/working conditions etc absolutely no reason to have a third party who you pay dues to to represent you. Good common sense for those workers. Biden is wanting to pay back unions and fatten the pockets of the Union bosses. Heavy black vote in this election at Amazon too. Blow to Bernie and AOC-YES!

  6. I don’t know which is worse! Giant tech or the Unions? Both seem to be about control. And dues for the union.

  7. Unions used to be good but… look who the unions backed. My dad has been president and held many offices in big unions. Me I was a union steward in a big union back when unions did try to uphold people’s rights. But when I was a union steward I could see that unions were changing and showing how money talked, not the memberships wishes. Now unions, at least the ones I see just support those that have the money and are anti-American. This is a big shame.
Unions made big mistakes way back. What unions shoukld have gone for was wages and profit control. What happened unions got more money for thier workers but companies just offset that increase in salary but rasing prices therby negating these wgae increases.
Unions now just are like politicians. The union leaders just take money from rich and hell with workers and general public.

    1. Oh and I try not to use amazon because this is a very anti-American company. Amazon does not support small American business. I buy from the business it self when possible. I suggest everyone do the same,

  8. More workers need to stand up to the unions – unions are bleeding workers with mandatory dues in order to work. Where is our freedom to choose?

  9. Who says the workers are “embattled”? They rejected union control just as voters in this Country rejected Biden. Apparently, Amazon didn’t have the Democrats’ voter fraud plan to steal this election.
