Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has officially declared war on critical race theory. During an announcement to promote his new proposal to increase funding for civics education in Florida’s school DeSantis said that there was ‘no room’ for critical race theory in Florida classrooms.
DeSantis went on to explain that, instead of radical and dangerous left-wing theories,Florida’s students would learn ‘solid, true curriculum.’
As Fox News reports:
Under the governor’s proposal, teachers who get credentialed in teaching civics would get a $3,000 bonus. Some $16.5 million would be devoted to training teachers and principals in civics education. That training would come from civics “coaches,” in-person seminars and virtual learning.
Around $6.5 million would be used for developing partnerships between schools and governments in an effort to get students interested in public service, and another $17 million would be targeted for developing civics curricula — excluding critical race theory.
“Florida’s civics curriculum will incorporate foundational concepts with the best materials and it will expressly exclude unsanctioned narratives like critical race theory and other unsubstantiated theories,” DeSantis said in announcing his proposal this week.
“Let me be clear: There is no room in our classrooms for things like critical race theory,” he continued. “Teaching kids to hate their country and to hate each other is not worth one red cent of taxpayer money.”
Truly a great Governor and supporter of American values. The critical race theory only further divides our nation (and is meant to).

He is doing what needs to be done. I am a senior and remember even in grammar school two newspapers arrived every day to the classroom. They would be referenced during our civics’ lessons. But in those times we were not taught by left wing teachers.
There are many songs and wonderful loving parents in Florida and yes Florida has DeSantis. California is in the process of recalling it’s overwhelmingly hypocritical governor so give California a chance. Yes at some leve a civics class would be a wonderful class and should be in any curriculum. However more to the point would be a course about the Constitution of the United States of America along with a review of what Abraham Lincoln has to say about Constitutional Republic. We, the People, need to read and re read the Constitution of the United States of America and even the amendments. Epluribus Unum (sorry my Latin is not good now). And spell check doesn’t know how to spell that when the red line appears here in comments).
Yes, that’s my governor. My daughter is a public school teacher and will be thrilled with the support this curriculum will bring!

This is a great beginning, but money should be spent on rooting out the CAUSE of ALL critical theory…and that is specifically The FRANKFURT SCHOOL OF CRITICAL THEORY. Google it, and be horrified. Especially Herbert Marcuse. The Frankfurt School came primarily from Germany during Hitler’s reign, and their CORE belief was: “In order to build a NEW society, you MUST completely and utterly destroy every single vestige of the old one”. This is what animated Karl Marx, and this animated the Frankfurt School. These ideological termites now live on thru our university system. The university system in turn, churns out what you see in Hollywood and the mainstream media: rank insanity on every conceivable level.
We have a good Governor in Alabama and I hope she mimics Florida’s Governor. If not Alabama, I had rather live in Florida. I agree with everything he is doing and wish all Governors would do the same. Of course I know the Democratic Governors would never be this decent.

A Schools job is to teach facts, math, science, English and history. The good and bad, that’s what made this country the country people want to risk everything to come to. It’s not hate, or division they want, it’s opportunity that the people before us fault for. The past is what it is and the only way forward is the future, All races fought for freedom and working together and moving forward together through unity, not division, not hate, not revenge is what we need. This country is the best country to live in even with all its faults. Loving your fellow citizens and your country and working together to move forward is what will keep this country free, not division because division will only promote failure.

Congratulations to Fla. for choosing a great governor. He has appreciated that we have responsibility for our actions and choices. His take on critical race theory is 100% correct . If people will take a look at Critical Race Theory they will
realize it produces a permanent victim class-people of color-and excuses poor performance as racially unavoidable ( enshrining permanent loss of opportunity). Time for ALL people to kick out those that are looking for power and control of our lives and get back to business of restoring our country.
