The anti-Trump “Lincoln Project” unwittingly created the funniest political ad of 2020.

In the ad, apparently called “Good Night, America,” a woman somberly walks into her son’s room late at night, as news reports on election returns are heard in the background.

“Hey, honey,” she says as she wakes the boy. “You asked me to wake you and tell you what
happened in the election.”

“Who won?,” he asks.

After a long pause, she flatly says, “Trump. Trump won.”

“But I thought you could only be president two times,” the boy moans.

As the sound of a mob chanting “Four more years” rises she answers, “Not anymore.”

While many liberals responded in tears, claiming the ad gave them “nightmares,” it also won praise for its comic genius, even though they were trying to be serious.

The over-the-top, melodramatic ad is almost as incorrect as it is hilarious.

In order for Trump to serve more than two terms, the Constitution would need to be amended to repeal the Twenty-Second Amendment, which limits the president to two terms.

That requires the support of both two-thirds of the House and two-thirds of the Senate, which does not exist for granting Trump an additional term.

Then, it would need to be ratified by two-thirds of the states. That currently means 38 states would need to agree to amend the Constitution to allow Trump additional terms. In 2016 Trump won 30, and even then most would not support changing the Constitution.

    2. Republicans COULD have impeached Obama for truly breaking the CONSTITITION by making laws from his desk. There is NO legality of the DACA EO. And his actions in spying on Trump should have put him in jail. And Lynch should have been jailed along with Bill for that meeting on the tarmac in Arizona. How do such crimes NOT get punished.

      4. not to mention Hillary, oh well. i’ve been around since the 50s, i was a little kid then, but i’ve been seeing criminal US politicians all my life, the lies told to get the public to support a war in vietnam for no reason except making massive amounts of money for military industries, aero-space making weapons, and so many died, innocent people in vietnam, war crime, and tens of thousands of american young guys sent there as canon fodder, and then it was exposed by a whistle blower daniel ellsberg, the media., NYT etc had mixed feelings about publishing it, they did, but they didnt treat it with the importance of the military’s own records showing how they strategically mislead the country, not just the military but the politicians too, that’s pretty bad, but i think it’s not against the law in the US, the only in trouble was the whistle blower for breaching “national security.” not my security, some people’s security but not our nation, that was bull. Kennedy wrote an executive order in 63 saying all US military (CIA advisors) out of vietnam effective immediately, to be complete by end of 1964. He was dead within a couple of months of ordering that and LBJ the vice president took over, he liked bombing the vietnamese. but there’s no law against war crimes int he US. then we got Nixon, and when his re-election was coming up he got some former intelligence crooks to spy on the democrats at the watergate hotel, got caught, and nixon got impeached, not for that but for brazenly lying about it and making tapes of his conversations in his office, so everyone crooked was on tape. the only people who did jail time, and some people did, from his staff, were just carrying out orders. then we didn’t have any big scandals in the political system for a while, US got out of vietnam, nixon policy, finally. then republicans needed to block clinton’s popularity, he was very popular not just partisan , because he had a very good economy after hard times under bush, and the US going deep in debt under reagan. Clinton had a budget surplus. when does that ever happen. so since he was doing well in his president job, they had get something else on him, not hard. he had lots of things going on with touching women , republicans put a lot into catching him in something, setting up monica lewinski using Linda Tripp, then Kenneth Starr published a porn book about Clinton’s sex trips with monica, maybe others. so, the great economy wasn’t something they were on board with because it meant that the vice president would be more popular so they smeared clinton, people like him, narcissists, dont’ really care when they get in trouble, but who republicans really hurt was the public, people of both parties and no party, independents were growing then. you hurt people’s economy and you piss them off. the whole thing about Clinton and monica, most people didn’t care about it, it made the republicans look worse than Clinton if that’s possible, and they knew it, they saw that it was mistake, they only thing that helped their popularity if you can all it that, was Trump. Trump wasn’t their idea, he blew away all their hack candidates which were even less popular than the democrats, McCain was a pretty good republican candidate and if he’d run against Hillary the first time, he probably would’ve won but Obama made a move and she was easy to defeat, she’s a poor candidate, she’s not popular, he was very popular, republicans voted for him too, ‘Hope and Change” he said. Bush had just put the US into Afghanistan ad Iraq, no exit strategy, fake reasons, and he screwed the economy, Democrats helped. bipartisan screwing of the US public, parties increasingly unpopular, after Obama’s two terms and demolishing of the innocent country of libya that wasn’t threatening anyone, that already volunteered to give up their WMD, saying they wanted to compete economically, and when they were successful, hillary pushed obama into wrapping himself in NATO and committing aggression against that country after campaigning against Bush and republicans for the Iraq war, he did the same thing to Libya, and droned civilians, people celebrating weddings or attending funerals BOOM US drone blows every body up, US leaders are criminals, Trump is conservative but he criticized the Republicans and the Democrats. Trump is an outsider and they were scared of him, they went to incredible lengths to keep him from blocking the global policy agenda led by CIA if globalist domination,. Because Trump is an outsider they felt confident that they could do whatever they wanted to him. Trump was the first leader the US has had related to foreign policy since Kennedy. that’s a long time. Trump to my great surprise came out campaigning against the “deep state’ , the “fake news’ and all the things those people have been in charge of my whole life. You don’t talk like that, no other leader ever talked like that, the other leaders weren’t leaders,. Some of them were cowards serving their masters who are demolishing countries in the mid east. Trump said “US needs to get out of the mid east, its not in our best interests ., we’ve spent so much money over there and it’s on worse shape than before we went. !!!!! TRUTH wow. courage. you can’t do that, i thought they would kill him but instead they assassinated his character, in the minds of so many americans. it worked, they didnt’ have to kill him, yet he ever backed down. he kept bringing it up, it would be good for americans to try to use diplomacy with Russia, we have common interests. wow ,what a grown up. i haven’t seen any grown up leaders before. of course they have to get rid of him, but he got in! first outsider who’s ever made it to be president. that is really something. no one else. Others have tried. it took trump, his unique personality and ways that he’s smart, and his team, they made the pros look like amateurs. and not able to admit responsibility for anything, they accused him of all kinds of things and they control the only information that is drilled into everybody’s head all day every day.

I really think that commercial or whatever you want to call it is stupid and uncalled for, why wouldn’t we the American people vote for a man that has kept every promise he ever made to us, has put god back into schools and everywhere else god was needed he has made America great again and I will vote for him again and again! I would never vote for a man that loves to touch little children preferably little girls, who would think killing a full term baby by abortion because the mother carrying the baby doesn’t want it well she should had practiced safe sex, I would never vote for a man that takes from his own country to give to himself or foreign countries never never never! He is for everything that Trump isn’t and Trump has proved time and time again he is the right man for the job. Best President we’ve ever had!

  9. Article wrong on one point…to be passed for three terms it would have to have 2/3’s of House and Senate, and ratified by 3/4’s of States (not 2/3’s….but 38 States is 3/4’s…Ok)
