Democrats Panic as GOP Holds Nine Point Midterm Lead…Among Hispanics

Democrats who once bragged “demographics are destiny” and boasted that America’s growing Hispanic population would power an eternal Democratic majority are smashing the panic button as more polls show Hispanics are growing rapidly – and they’re voting Republican.

While Republicans hold a five-point lead among Democrats in the “generic ballot” test for November’s midterm elections, that lead swells to nine points among Hispanics, the latest Wall Street Journal poll finds.

More polling suggests Hispanics are disgusted by Democrats’ embrace of socialism and a radical social agenda.

The Republican National Senate Committee’s latest Hispanic Battleground Survey finds widespread anger over Democrats’ sudden hard left turn.

The poll found among Hispanics:

* 63 percent believe “free market capitalism is the best form of government because it gives people the freedom to work and achieve their potential.”  Only 17 percent say “socialism is the best form of government because it is more fair and equitable to working class people.”

* 67 percent believe “I’m very concerned that America is declining, and my kids won’t have the same opportunities me and my family came here to find.”

* 58 percent believe “too many people in this country no longer want to work and are happy to just live off of government assistance.”

* 69 percent oppose “allowing illegal immigrants to receive the same welfare and unemployment benefits as citizens.”

* 57 oppose a plan by Democrats to add “ three additional judges on the Supreme Court so that they would have a liberal majority on the Court and their most liberal policies will not be struct down as unconstitutional.”

* 65 percent oppose Democrat efforts to ban photo ID requirements to vote

The poll concluded America’s Hispanic electorate is growing by two percent each election, and the result is a nation that will look like Florida, where there are twice as many voters are there were 20 years ago and they are “substantially less white” “and yet, more Republican than it was 20 years ago.”
